    I'm from Scandinavia and I have a ping of 150-160 when playing SoT.
    While I'm no Jack Sparrow, I honestly do notice not only server lag like most people do these days, but also a general "delay". Other players seem to "vanish" from view and seem to move in and out of my FoV too easily.
    While some of this is just running across better players, after a while it gets obvious that some players I've met are not better at the game. They just have better ping.

    Please work on some better servers for your global audience Rare.

    This is true of many multiplayer online games. Sot is, unfortunately, no exception.

    This enemy teleporting thing has been happening to me and my crew for quite some time now. People just 'skip' in some direction. Quite annoying when you're swordfighting.

    While true it does happen in other multiplayer games, SoT is what I would categorize as a "twich-based-PvP". What I mean by that is that you engage in PvP that depend on tiny movements, "twitches". Games like Call of Duty, Battlefield and Overwatch are popular twitch-based PvP games.
    If the audience in those games had to deal with 150+ ping there would be an uproar. You simply don't play on servers in these games have a ping of 100 or more, because you are at such a disadvantage compared to players on the same server who have less ping.
    SoT is really no different and should strive to place server clusters around the world and let people chose their region for best performance. - Just like they do in other games of this type.

    @roguedk That is true. The lag can be exceptionally troublesome in SoT. It is very twitchy, hit reg is bad and after 2 years they are still trying to balance out 4 weapons correctly.

    The up side is that hand-to-hand in SoT is so wonky that it requires as much luck as skill anyways. So who really ever knows if it's "head or tails?". Rare should just have a coin toss instead of combat :)

    But being serious, you are correct. Terrible lag issues don't add to improving the gameplay.
