So playing recently I got into a discussion with my friend and thought I'd share it here and hopefully it gets some attention of some kind...
The game is fantastic and I've been playing a long time but realised just like many other players there's simply not much to do once a certain point is reached... You reach pirate legend... Do all the tale tales... And that's it... Not only is it not much but its a boring fetch quests and repetitive puzzles for mediocre rewards... But I'm not here to slate the game... I thought of proposing a way of bringing a mod support of sorts for players to make their own community tall tales where people who have played and enjoyed the game can make their own experiences with more depth since there wouldn't be a quota to fill... Players could write their own books which lay out an interesting story and experienced modders could build new puzzles and challenges to play and set rewards to get in the end (Within reason, still gotta keep it reasonable)... Players could opt into joining certain sessions and servers with these community tall tales to try them out and reap the rewards and fun... I just figured since the game is a sandbox we need more sandbox features like this and community tall tales would be a nice place to start since, in my experience playing games such as fallout, skyrim, Minecraft and other expansive titles that mods and community releases can benefit the game extremely especially since players know what the community wants and how the game plays often better than devs do... Just an idea my apologies if this was too long but I wanted to properly get my point across and thank you if you read to the end.
Community Tall tales
@moammonster While I'm certainly not against the idea of pirates having more freedom, TTs are meant to expand the lore of the SoT, and to be rather blunt, that's not something I want to put into the hands of your average Joe. That is exclusively Rare's purview, and IMO, should stay that way. What you're suggesting is something I see being added at the end of the game's lifecycle, in order to keep pirates on the seas, but we're nowhere quite near that yet.
