So I've been playing sea of thieves since launch. I know the load times have always been long and the devs have done their best to try and fix this. But recently I feel like load-in times have gotten longer. It can take up to 3 minutes to load into a game from the ship select menu and just recently my Sloop sunk cause I was stuck in the black load in screen after the ferry of the damn for literally two minutes and had to listen to my ship slowly fill up with water, crash into an island and eventually sink all because I was loading in. I could hear it all and do nothing. PLEASE fix load in times for xbox cause they're taking far far too long

I changed from normal xbox to xbox one x and now these problems are solved i got really fast loading times now but i also only have sot installed no other games etc.
On normal xbox its really hard to play solo indeed i often returned too late to save me boat..
But still if people try to join when im in battle they cant load in i need to leave the battle scene first so they can join -.-
The load times are affected by hardware, but mostly by what is happening in-game. Load times increase with the amount of strain the game is under, as it attempts to shift power to other things. Ships are among the most taxing things in the game, being massive physics objects syncing across several different platforms in different areas of the world and moving various interactable and moving parts with them. Following them are the islands, especially the bigger ones with more props and more effects (water, fire, fog, cave lighting, etc). Along with that are AIs, such as skeletons, sharks, kraken tentacles and animals. Plus the game is constantly trying to update what is going on and when something new might happen, so it gets to be quite the load. An SSD will help greatly with load times for until they optimize the game.
