The way it is now you light fuse on keg and have limited time. Does that mean there will be more people setting up traps and camping? As of right now I feel it’s pretty balanced. You can already lead skeletons to a keg and light it and run with enough time to get away from blast.
You can already create traps the same way but instead of lighting a fuse you snipe barrel from a distance. The trail would take time to burn so sniping it may be a better route anyway.
Because you can do the same thing already using the barrels how they are or sniping them from a distance idk if it would be worth being added.
I’ve pulled some sneak plays in my time which include hiding under dock with keg, hiding kegs by dock sniping it when ship parks, hiding keg in tavern while waiting for reaper chest to be turned in, and sneaking up to crows nest lighting then dropping down.
Like I said cool feature but you can already do the same things without a trail of powder and there may be more efficient ways than powder trail.
You can do everything you said but much more but regarding camping..it doesnt matter for 2 reasons.

Camping takes patience not many have. Should that patience net loot then it should be rewarded but my god thats a boring way to make your fortune.

Kegs littered across the place with trails would kinda be a giveaway.
So what could you do better?
You could set all kegs off at various distances away with a single flame which would be great for distractions. Have them places far enough away its going off at slower intervals. It'll keep their focus while you sneak on their ship.
You can make an actual fireship. Where you have all your kegs caked on your ship below deck but you have a powder trail right at your wheel where you can judge just the right time to strike based off ur speed.
It will provide a comical moment of picking up a lit powder keg where the flame hasnt reached it, and running away from the flame whether it be to save your ship or to destroy someone elses.
How does the fuse work?
If you light the keg and dont move it, it kabooms same amount of time it always did.
If you light it but then run and move the keg, it wont kaboom until flame reaches keg again but will restart the original few sec kaboom timer.
That way, it makes sense grabbing a keg and running like hell and having your crew throw water on it.
Of shooting it of course, but it would provide some comical memorable moments.
Most importantly it would be fun.
Being fun should be reason enough to implement as its the main reason we play 🙂
