So I decided to take a peek at what you can earn from the new tall tales added to the game and one reward stood out to me. "The Gold Hoarders Curse" is a vanity item that you can earn in the final tall tale "The Shores of Gold" and it must be the most difficult item to obtain in the game as of right now.
complete each tale 5 times and obtain 5 (or more) journals.
Your average legend is going to be able to complete one of these tales in 3 hours or less depending on their skill level. For all of the commendations on one tale you are going spend around 20 hours on each tale. The result of completing every tale would take around 180 hours minimum.
Basically i'm complaining about grind in a game that already is a serious grind, but not having much cash reward in between is really disappointing. These tales are cool the first go around, but after 4 additional repeats the script gets old. It is very likely I'll grind my little heart out to get that amazing cosmetic item, but I don't like remembering this amazing game as being a heavy grind.
The Journey to pirate legend did not make me feel as annoyed because I was getting money and making my own adventures along the way. The tall tales are awesome but they really are not fun when you are replaying the same thing over and over with little reward.
Summary
The overall problem with tall tales in my opinion is the grind, if that grind is not fixed I feel like in the future more players are going to grow tired of it also due to those final rewards "the best rewards" being so far out of reach
