Add Morrow's Peak Outpost in the Devil's Roar to possible game spawns.

  • Hello,

I would like to suggest to add the Morrow's Peak Outpost in the Devil's Roar as one of the possible initial spawn points for your character when entering the game. The Devil's Roar is a great place to do voyages with the Ashen loot etc, however I experience that in way too many playthroughs the area simply doesn't get visited as much as the others given the fact that you never spawn there. The fact that you have to take the initiative to travel there every time makes this great zone less popular and populated than it could've been.

    Regards, Holfdor

  • I agree, but with the caveat that you should only be able to spawn at Morrow's Peak if you already have the commendation for visiting there at least once. Or perhaps the commendation for visiting all of the DR islands instead.

The game is already a little unfriendly for new players, and throwing them into Devil's Roar early on is just making it worse. Someone who wants to occasionally spawn at Morrow's Peak, would then have to purposely do something to make it possible.

  • It would only when it's certain the island isn't going to erupt in the near future because a lot of us spend quite a bit of time collecting supplies on the island before leaving. I would not feel happy running away instantly.

I like this idea. The ability to randomly spawn at Morrow's Peak could be earned along with the Devil's Cartographer commendation, or perhaps even Master Devil's Voyager. Either way, this would be a nice option for those who have proven their ability and willingness to adventure in the Devil's Roar.

Absolutely right. The Roar is no place for beginners. Even some experienced players find it too demanding. The ability to randomly spawn at Morrow's Peak should be earned, and even then optional.

  • @holfdor people dont go there because people dont like it. you can spawn like an island away if you spawn at galleons grave i think it is or maybe its ancient spire outpost. people still wont go there, not because its a long trip, just because they dont like it. also people will spawn at mermaids hideaway and still head to the wilds or the ancient iles wich is just as far so i dont think it has anything to do with spawns

  • @d4m0r3d I am not gonna argue with you about the latter part of your post but Your statement saying "people dont go there because people dont like it." Is not true me and my crewmate love going to the Devils Roar, we do our athena hunting there i am all for more risk more reward and not only that there is literally hardly anyone ever in DR anymore when we play so it take us a lot less longer than in a normal area where say there might be two galleons or whatever nearby and pray they do not come. The only frustrating part of DR is the Volcanoes but even then as long as one person can get to the ship and sail far enough away you are typically fine, though we had an instance the other day where i was getting hammered by the volcano and dyin a lot, at the end we had the maximum amount of holes in the boat and we barely made it out it. Again not trying to argue but not all people dislike the DR

  • @thaundeadone yea i love the DR aswell. if im ever going to do voyages or athenas or hunt athenas i go there. the DR is my fav region on the map. but everytime in on an open crew everyone hates the DR and on the forums i see people alll the time saying its not worth going there because volcanos are too much to deal with and other poo like that. most people just dont like DR. i think if we could spawn there it might make some people do voyages there but i think more people would dislike spawning in the volcano realm

  • Im going to say no,imagine spawning in to your ship already sinking because the island is erupting then getting spawned over in the shores of plenty.

  • There are too many issues with it being a spawn due to the size and orientation of the area, along with its inherent dangers, and the fact that it's the only one in that region. I think that Ancient Spires is the outpost for the 'Roar due to it's close proximity and gives crews better options to gather supplies and where they'd like to enter the area, ie. NE, E, or SE. This also gives crews already in the area time to react to where they want to turn in.

  • Just disable the volcano at the outpost... They all die out eventually, right?

  • @galactic-geek the volcano at morrow's peak erupts quite rarely (never saw it erupt even though i was there like twenty times) and there is an active one near by.

  • @foxkelfonne well if you don't want to be there you can leave and then set sail again. and end up at a different outpost.

  • @cookieconsumer6 I assure you that it absolutely does - it's rare, but I have been under it on at least 3 separate occasions.

  • @galactic-geek I had the extreme misfortune of the volcano erupting the moment I set foot on shore at the outpost. I then got to watch as the volcano auto-aimed to hit my poor sloop with three rocks in less than 10 seconds, and then blasted me the moment I jumped on to try to repair it.

I'm pretty sure there are skeletons inside the volcanoes firing the rocks out of cannons with how accurate they are.

Gunpowder barrel skellies got nothing on the ones inside the volcano - nigh indestructible and too hot to handle! 😂

  • @holfdor I like it the way it is. A lot of players do not want anything to do with the volcanoes. The devils roar was introduced as a new land that you are meant to venture to.

  • Maybe not spawn in Devil's Roar but at least have one quest available at each of the quest givers so if people are interested in going they don't have the sail the full map in order to even pick up a quest. Most people just buy and thrown a quest down...which means a local quest by where they spawn.

  • They initially sold devils roar as a choice. Suggesting that it would require preparation and supplies before headed there. I am not saying that this is always the case for all crews, but they decided to make it a conscious choice to voyage there.

Especially as the map grows and more “hard” regions arrive, I don’t see an issue with keeping with spawning in the calm waters, especially if the old maps are centred and harder areas are built along the perimeter

  • @foxkelfonne yeah one time i was running away from an erupting volcano and while i was adjusting the sails...BOOM a lava rock kills me in one shot and 3 medium ones damage my ship almost sunk. i think there is a percentage that the rocks from the volcano hits you or your ship and it's not random.
