Offline Mode

  • I realize that the point of this game is the online mode but what about when you get on to do some solo grinding and get bombarded by multiple trash talking ships constantly. It just makes the game a time waster and you nothing to show for all the time you've put in. I am proposing an offline mode where you do not have to deal with other people but the loot is 50% less valuable this will give solo players a chance while still encouraging multiplayer mode. Or maybe a co-op mode where you can play with just a select few friends. Thoughts?

The game is a competitive, Open World, multiplayer experience. The idea of an offline mode runs contrary to that.

You are 100% wrong about the possibility of successfully solo slooping. I have primarly soloed since launch. Have leveled multiple pirates to 30+, and have been killed by other players only a handful of times when I wasn't looking to be killed.

Last night I solo slooped for 2.25 hours. I was killed exactly zero times, lost my ship exactly zero times, killed a skeleton ship, faced the kraken and lived to tell the tale, killed someone else and recovered a chest off of them, and in the end made about 13,000 gold.

I recorded the entire session and have decided to do the same for my next 10-20. I am uploading it this evening and will share it with you tomorrow.

(Oops... I lied. That skele ship got me with a cannonball. Still I respawned, recovered my ship, and sank him.)

  • Nope gets a no from me.

  • @drotterspace do you read? The game says "Online-Game"

  • @vin-delanos while I do agree with you, it is a competitive game I still want an offline mode, but I want an offline mode not because I want an easy way out, I want it because my internet isn't fast enough for me to play a game like sea of thieves competitively, therefore I want an online mode where you have an NPC crew that you can command, and can do voyages, but there are a bunch of skeleton ships posing a constant threat. I understand that Sea of thieves requires good internet to play but I would wish to change that.
