Melee Weapons

  • I was thinking about our weapons and how our guns have specific bonuses. What about our melee weapons? What if we had more options and what if they had bonuses? Most of these weapons could utilize the block button to do their specials.

    What are your ideas? What would you like to see?

    • Cutlass - Medium Attack, Lunge and Block (medium speed)

    • Boarding Axe - Heavy Attack, Can Climb Hulls and Can Create Holes in Hull (slow speed)

    • Rapier - Light Attack, Small and Fast Lunge, New Dodge Skill (fast speed)

    • Dagger - Light Attack, Can Be Thrown (fast speed)

    • Grappling Hook - Light Attack, Can Climb Hulls and Rocks (fast speed)

  • Whip: Reach weapon, does a slowdown effect (cringing with pain) but otherwise does little damage, Ideal for keeping blunderbuss boarders at a distance.

    Bayonetted rifle: A rifle that can only be fired from the hip but has a thrust attack that you can use with alt fire.

  • I don't think a boarding axe should be able to put new holes in the ship but it should be able to pry off repair planks. But yes I do want one all the same.

    Heavy Sword is already kind of soft confirmed ;-) That's no cutlass ;-)
