Lot of cheaters nice.

  • RebornReaper17: Did you watch the video? That is no tanking a gun shot..that sir..is cheating, plain and simple.

  • @rebornreaper17 They were not eating bananas just letting you know. Oh trust me you will come across them eventually.

  • Hm, well once more I haven't seen it before personally. I've done plenty of 1v3 1v2 and 1v4's.. To know that some players are kind of 'bad'. Most the xbox players I fight against have some terrible aim and Im able to jump back and forth and spin around in circles before they finally hit me once and by then I kill them or I'm healing up behind some small cover. But once more record it if you can.

  • Ah yeah look at that.. Never seen that only times I haven't killed anyone is cause of ping. Sometimes mine can range anywhere from 90-150ping.. Tho that's a cheat just get videos or short clips showing it off. Simple enough really. Also a good options is just to leave and rejoin a different server since it's rare you will be on the same one.

  • Thing is that cheaters often create more cheaters. Some people will use cheats if they been killed enough times by others lowlife pirates using cheats. So if something is not done soonish we will have a mayor problem on our hands.

  • If you do not report people right, you will not stop half of them from testing new things. The twitch guy i hope reported it but ill tell you something else here...

Today i thought someone was on the outpost island, i heard a German guy speaking at the docks... We took off just in case, could not find him at the docks, came back 3 different times to cash in things, and still we heard the German fellow speaking. So it is possible a person is there but not actually there. The same was for our voice chat. Just saying bugs and desync issues can happen.

  • There is an article on Windows Central that has screen shots of one of the game mods in action. As well Craig Duncan responded on Twitter today with "'Agreed 100% and we have been doing a lot of anti-cheat and server authoritative work but it's a continuous effort we need to keep on top of but know we are investigating issues as we see them!"

  • I think something Rare needs to consider is an easy way to report hackers. When I'm in the midst of fighting a ship or a crew, it's hard to think about turning on my video... And it's difficult to see user names at long distances.

Hackers are definitely a thing... Some friends of mine and I were all on a Galleon (4 of us) and ended up in a ship battle with a 3 man Galleon after they fired on us. We sunk their boat. It was already almost completely under water and the next thing you know, it's back up and they managed to kill the entire crew with headshot cannon fire even though before that, they hadn't managed to hit more than our ship 3-4 times.

Proceeded to call us bullies and said that they hoped we learned our lesson not to mess with them... even though they fired on US first.

You can't repair a ship that's underwater... so they were definitely cheating. And there was no way for us to know that until the battle was done.

It would be easier if ships had noticeable, randomized names that could be reported from a list. Or some other way... :/

  • You had put a tonne of holes into the upper deck of the ship and it will do NOTHING.
You need to put holes below the water line to sink a ship.

Keep this in mind for repairs too. Repair below waterline first, top levels... eh, not a concern.

  • I've been in a couple crews where we beat the hell out of the other guys and they didn't die or sink. We were at a fort and they were sitting still. We plugged em twenty times with three of us on cannon below sea level and no sinking. They had three people on top deck and there's no way they shouldn't of sank. We fought them 5 times with the same result. Cheating is real.

  • @dread1217 said in Lot of cheaters nice.:

I've shot a ship 40 times and it didn't sink the crew was most likely repairing extremely fast. You got outskilled get over it and stop blaming hacks.

Do a Google search. You will see the hacks are already quite prevalent.

Good advice. Hacks are prevalent now though. Google search and see.

  • Cheaters are a very real problem in Sea of Theives at the moment, which is a real shame because it ruins the pvp aspect of the game. If crossplay is to become a win for Microsoft, they are going to need to implement a system that prevents cheats, not just a system that discourages cheating.

  • @thebloodly last night my xbox crew were doing a fort on a 4 man gally. like weve done several times b4. defended against a few ships like weve done b4 . this 2 man sloop came up and we battled this sloop for a few hours. it was un sinkable this thing got hit with 10 15 cannons balls in rapid succession several times during our battle and never once rode low in the water. their ship did not have one spot on it without cannon damage. it would not sink. we ended up giving up and left. i play on xbox to avoid pc hackers and am feeling like i wasted my money. how can a sloops cannon ball and repair supplies out last a fully stocked gally. they got hammered constantly by the fort as well as us. there is no way that was legit players.

  • @thebloodly I'm not defending the title I have issues with it myself mainly the lack of progression/gear progression and content. But I am weary of the amount of reports so far of use of aimbots and esp hacks myself and possible lag switchers.

In terms of unsinkable boats could be plausible but a reference (video would help of it occuring) waterline shots sink boats faster than mid and upper hull hits in general but overall Rare needs to be looking into these issues as this title is imo a flop already. My crew the other night had boarders (2man sloop) from a Galleon who survived 5 centre mass shots from a blunderbuss where as they were 1-3 shotting us in return, but they lost once we repelled them for we were the better sailors sunk them at range combat, im seeing a trend in terms of pvp it seems to be the scrub meta where as they refuse to engage in naval combat and instead try to board for they're c**p shots with cannons lol.

Issues like unsinkable ships report to Rare and if you have DVR of it upload it to youtube for a reference too, its the problem with crossplay i feel it invites the cheats and myself am a PC and console gamer as well.

  • @xi-am-vengencex depends on resources sadly it may have been a hack/cheat going on or they had their captain repairing below deck while theyre master gunner was on cannons.

This game has a alot flaws and the combat and be stretched out due to pure resources if they have more planks( more valuable than cannonballs imo in this) then they can repair indefinitely.

  • @br0nzebeard we got hit a few times but they were drilled constantly for a few hours. its cannon balls we ran out of not planks

  • @thebloodly we are havin same issues i love sot but the cheats are clear google them they pop straight up super health unsinkable ship's insta kill unlimited supplies crossplatform between console and pc does not work ruining the game

  • @thebloodly so. While i think your problem was a lack of below water hits and an inability to stop them from repairs.

I have seen screen shots of the ingame auto aim / player ID hack working.

    So yea. People are cheating.

  • @thebloodly yea my crew are done till it gets fixed we just had guys detonate barrels in front of them and not die......

  • you mean hes talking nonsense just like this video is not proof? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZXVgRlglrI do some research....

  • @ogshawnyboy-tt said in Lot of cheaters nice.:

Elitist answer to everything: Its cause you suck and I'm awesome.

    LOL

Scrub answers to everything: I can't suck, you must be cheating...

  • Yep it's definitely started. First time for me today. Was getting killed while trying to unload chests by an invisible player? I could hear somebody walking around on my ship but you could not see anyone. After he killed me twice the next time he appeared waving and drinking while I shot him over and over with no damage. There was another player with him and they were just laughing it up saying "you can't kill me."

  • @uberwiggett well it is Super easy to fix holes in ships, you can easily bail out water faster than it comes in.
Thats is why it is extremely Inefficent to try and sink any ship with cannons.
sorry to say this, but you are doing it wrong..
    how to sink a ship.
    1: use explosive barrels
2: Board the ship and prevent repairs

If you still want to shoot at it with cannons you still need to do Nr2.
cannons are for skelliebobs and krakens, if you use them against other ships, you will be going for 2 things,
random hits below waterline and random hits that kill crew.
in close combat ship fight aim at the crew..

"hey flat out stated they were hacking." and they told us to "go away" and "you can't beat us"
could it be that all YOU were doing was annoy them and waste their time with a silly ineffective cannon battle and they wanted you to go away. and by claiming they were hackers was a fools bluff, to make you realise this fight was a waste of time. because just shooting cannonballs is not going to sink a ship with a decent crew.

  • I found an unlimited health and aimbot hacker... he didnt even got any cooldown on sword dash even he missed... :/

  • Launch day ESP :/
    [Mod edited]

  • here is dude with unlimited health that I have stumbled couple of times... :/
    [Mod edited]

  • @thebloodly

Ships dont have health you joker. They take in water until a certain point. If you hit with 100 balls, but that crew keeps the lowest deck repaired it doesnt matter how many holes you punch into the upper deck.

And that brings us to the main problem...brainless gamers not understanding the mechanics calling out cheaters every single time something happens they dont understand.

  • @finkku

Thats another form of namecalling in the forums, you dont write his name, you post a vid showing it. I can understand that YouTube has different user agreements then this forum, so its ok there I guess, here, its not.

  • I just pointed it out that there is a hacking proplem going on... :/ and it is just growing because rare aint fixing anything :/
at the moment confirmed cheats are:

Aimbot – Auto aim at other players and enemies

Treasure Finder – See spawned treasure and other rare items

Chest ESP – See spawned chests on islands

Player ESP – See other players

Ship ESP – See enemy vessels at maximum distance

NPC ESP – See mermaids, skeletons and other enemies

There is a tube video from hack makers but I wont link that one because it would be just adverticement for hack :/
    @Rare-Employee
please do something or game will die! :(

  • Ships do not have "health" per se. You can blast them all day long and as long as someone is repairing or you fail to hit the water line, they will not sink.

Blunderbus hits are sometimes very erratic, and head shots with a BB are not really possible unless your alleged cheaters were standing still.

Not sure how far you got progressing the factions, but I will guess... not far.

If you come back in six months, take some time to get into the game.

  • Playing better than others is not chiting... just saying.

  • @nanatyl5d There are cheaters out there. It's just not as rampant as the OP makes it out to be. Some people are more willing to cheat because the risk isn't as great on Console if you're a legit player you won't risk your account because years of game progress is tied to your Xbox account. On PC accounts are throw away because there a so few games that require you to tie it to a Microsoft account.
