the accidental doubloon reset not applying to some users has provided them with data to "add to our tooling and testing process to avoid this in the future" ok..... so either they are planning a yearly doubloon reset to insure the currency stays sought after. OR..... they are going to reset gold as well despite the claims they werent going to in the fireside chat or whatever that video was a few months back. that was more them just trying to settle people down because the doubloon reset was still a bad idea and poorly done and then they screwed it up and punished the people who werent reset properly. claiming they would keep doubloons they "earned legitimately" because all those previous doubloons were obtained via cheating? so the past 7 years of play was cheating? cool.... i would imagine if i were one of those people who didnt get reset i wouldnt have even played during the event because i would have bought everything and then logged off and not thought about the game again until next update. but this is the whole con of the reset. it was just to boost player numbers. and play time. force everyone to regrind what they just stole from us.
so yea. its obvious another reset is coming. and honestly has to? but between the reset, recent news issues, new update focus, depending on player generated content with no rewards, this games a dead man walking. switch2 release in 2027 probably to try and bring in some fresh players but the servers will still be running as bad or worse than they always have. the ship that is sea of thieves seems to be springing more and more leaks and were all out of planks to repair. just waiting for our bailing arms to get tired
