@broadsideban i genuinely dont get it, without (after the initial year 1/2 scarcity period) ever focussing on doubloons i have 67k doubloons.
That is after purchasing every… single… cosmetic ever originally available for it and more then once nuking my entire stash for gold when i was getting the dark adventurers set(s).
Doubloons where never hard to come by after the original bilge rat adventures when there was actual scarcity. As soon as they added:
- Reapers chests
- Gifts
- Ashen chests, keys
- tomes
I literally started drowning in the damn coins
Sadly, as i have stated multiple times this doubloon reset is lazily done and hence ran into alot of well deserved blowback from veterans and newer players alike.
If they really put like a weeks worth of effort into it they could have:
- a well thought out commemoration set
- tied the doubloon reset into lore (gmu, smugglers other factions)
- make lifetime earned doubloons visible instead of alot of people now just hoping to have made that invisible bar
But alas, we get a dumb reset that wasn’t thought trough and possibly will make sense somewhere in the future for something they are not sharing (yet) but as it stands is just dumb.
And since they admitted this was basically just a test run on how to do a good rebalance of the gold economy will at least hopefully teach them to at least put more metal effort into that one.
