Bring back time limited items

  • In my opinion, for a game like Sea of Thieves, I think it would be benefitcial if time limited items such as the original bone clothes set, the original forsaken ashes weapon set, the mercenary weapon, and what ever else could make a comeback.

Considering there is alot of players who weren't around during the earlier days of SoT, it would be awesome to be able to get the time limited sets, as alot of them looked cool and would give the broader player base a chance to get them too.

yea the black market is returning, bone crusher set is coming back

  • @karminiumsot may I ask for a source for this info?

  • @peppic4510
my name is KarminiumSOT i am the source

    this video talks about it

  • @karminiumsot thamks.

  • Considering there is alot of players who weren't around during the earlier days of SoT

So with that mindset. Everything should be earn able at one point regardless of it being special first timers to achieve.
Maybe they should also offer vanguard titles for those who weren’t part of the early early days?? Or them sails

  • @burnbacon I would hope that they leave that kind of exclusive in the past. It's going to be interesting to see what they choose to/not to bring back.

  • Content should never be removed, only easier to earn at launch or something.

Finding something you would love to earn and finding out you can't is uninstall-inducing.

FOMO is toxic and shouldn't exist.

  • @jackaldark What I find more toxic is the idea and mindset that players are entitled to getting everything they want/see, regardless of if they were around to earn said cosmetics when they were originally earnable.

What next? Are these new/entitled players going to expect Rare to allow them to earn the Arena weapons? SOME things should remain sacred. I don't agree with the idea of locking an item model away; that's why recolors exist.

You almost never see Forsaken Ashes, Bonecrusher or Wailing Barnacle ships out sailing around, but when you do, you know that player was around in the earliest/best days of this game. The Bonecrusher stuff was tough to get at the time too, because players had to be online at a certain time for the event, where the battle took place. It's these stories and accomplishments being muddied by little Timmy who thinks he should have complete access to anything and everything.

But ultimately, it doesn't matter what I say/want, they're going to do it anyway.

  • The Bonecrusher stuff was tough to get at the time too, because players had to be online at a certain time for the event, where the battle took place.

    God dont remind me...
But can you imagine if they did those things today? Players would lose there minds, flood the forums of all the hate and such. Ooh but it was fun back then.

  • @jackaldark it has nothing to do with fomo imho, it is being able to show you where part of an event in time.

Events like when cursed sails was happening having to be in a certain place during a certain real world time to make it.

I have 99.999% of all the cosmetics in the game but a couple have eluded me for one reason or another.

One of which will never return and i am fine with that because it was given for uncovering and solving a puzzle around release time. The golden banana set. And guess what they also received a 18 carat golden banana worth 20k gbp at the time (alot more now):

But but but fomo we needs we needs

No you don't, especially nowadays where there is hundreds of cosmetic sets to earn and buy and what you also want the chance to win that golden banana, or the golden xbox from an arena tournament, or the golden skull from the hosrders hunt mystery from 2023 ?

And to be honest, they are devaluing cosmetics that had to be earned the hard way with sometimes alot of time investment for what, 1500 doubloons ? Even with the new bilge rats weekender system it is laughable at best compared to some of the old ways

  • @burnbacon Genuinely some of the most hype moments. My crew and I battled other crews that kept trying to sink us, while also fending off the waves of skeleton ships. Unlocking that ship set was so hype and felt super good after that long battle. Too bad that ship set is going to become as common as the kraken/crab set.
