Alright, so I convinced a friend to get SoT, which is useful cuz it gives me an excuse to get back into the game, also I convinced him to get to it with the prospect of singing shanties, and he used to play years ago on an old account which was hacked, which is why he can't play on that one, but he doesn't remember much, so I ask thee, what do you think I should teach him/remind him of first? I'm curious to see what y'all want me to do

- stuff gonna happen out of your control.
- not everything is “yours” until you turn in and get the gold.
- you will sink.
- players are pirates in a pirate game.
- you will have a fun time or bad time depending on your mindset. Go in with a good mindset “it’s just a game!” And make the most fun out of a bad situation.
Above all
- don’t stress because your not progressing “fast and quickly”
the state of things today, the lack of quality of life improvements, the fact the developers still arent listening to feed back, the amount of rampant cheating still going on..... i wouldnt even recommend anyone to the game despite how much i love the foundation the built.... depending on what your friend enjoys in games there might be too many negatives to allow the positives to out weigh them. like if they are heavy pvp focused and going to want to focus on hourglass i wouldnt even bother with the install.
Sword lunge jump. I use it many many times every session and I don't know what I would do without it. One of the big reasons I don't double gun. Simply hold block, then hold attack, then press jump as soon as you start to move forward. Useful for water travel, fighting hoards of enemies and crossing large gaps.
