Subject: Please Make Davy Jones’ Organ Freely Accessible for All Players

  • Hello Rare team,

I really love the atmosphere and music in Sea of Thieves, especially the iconic Davy Jones’ organ featured in the “A Pirate’s Life” Tall Tale. It would be amazing if this organ could be made freely accessible outside of the quest, so players can enjoy playing it anytime they want.

Many players share this wish, and I believe it would add a lot to the game’s immersive world and community experience. Please consider adding the organ to a permanent location, like the taverns or another hub area.

Thank you for your continued support and for listening to the community!

    Best regards,
    Mark

  • I made a similar suggestion but about the piano that was shown in the captaincy trailer.

I think ur idea would be pretty cool however im not too sure where they would put it since its quite big.

  • It would not be easy to play effectively, they would need to create a new system for playing it. The current way you select notes is very rudimentary, using the piano as an eccentric form of drop down list. It would sound awkward more often than sounding good. It's probably not going to happen for the same reasons as custom shanties/custom note playing

I know players love the music, but not the organ.

I believe it would add a lot to the game’s immersive world and community experience.

In what way? Standing in front of an Organ, pressing keys to create sound and...that it. Most likely they add one to Port Merrick in the tavern and it become another forgotten/wasted feature.

  • @potatosord The shanty playing in Sea of Thieves is the exact OPPOSITE of rudimentary when you realise the work put in. (there is a reason Robin won an Ivor Novello award after all....).

There is a YouTube video that explains it better but, every instrument, joining in at any point.....just works...regardless of which started it or which was 2nd, 3rd etc.... it is a LOT more complex than just add this instrument, EZ.

  • @markmiraak99 That song/organ being property of "House of the Mouse" is the likely reason for not allowing it. It is licensed, and I'm not a lawyer thankfully, it is probably strictly licensed.

  • @look-behind-you I think you misunderstand what I meant. The system for selecting which notes you play on the organ is slow, and rudimentary. For every other instrument and shanty we have currently, they are all masterworks and I have plenty times sailed past or into the island I was going to because I want to play the whole shanty
