SOLO HIGH SEAS IS UNBEARABLE

  • Figured I'd try to knock out some quests in the Roar for a couple of hours. I really don't know why you guys hate solos so much. Managed to dig up a reaper chest after a random ashen captain and went to sell at the only island allowed. On my way, I was Kraken'd, immediately followed by a meg, immediately followed by skellie ship. As I was preparing to dock at Reaper's hideout, the game crashed (not the first time this has happened). When I loaded back in, a brig had come out of nowhere and already half-sunk my ship, and camped me. Didn't even have a chance to fight back, nor would I even had a chance 3 v 1. Treasure gone. Typical solo experience in high seas. Yet we don't get the full rewarding experience on safer seas. This game is an absolute joke. Hours passed away for nothing. Un-installed, per your wish.

  • When I loaded back in, a brig had come out of nowhere

Right after you crashed and login again. Soo the time it took for you to rejoin, they were already close enough.

Idk what the problem is. Everything you mentioned and happen, I wish happen more often and more. The thrill of everything happening all at once. Dang!

As a solo. I prefer these moments than nothing at all.

  • Sometimes this game can throw a few curve balls, it's all part of the open world experiance.

I have been solo before and had various things attack me all at the same time. Once had a meg, galleon skeleton ship and a player sloop on me. Managed to get away alive, it was an intense experiance. While other times I have been sunk in a smilar way, a Kraken and player sloop.

I like the randomness of the game, you never know what's around the corner.

Other times I've played solo for four or five hours and seen nothing but a couple single things attack me, be it megs or skeletons ships and seeing no enemy players at all the whole session.

It's what makes the game great.

  • Solo slooping is hard mode. Even more so if you're a newer player.
Knowledge and experiences in the game are the real currencies to worry about not gold or reputation. Once you have more knowledge and experience the game continuously opens up.

Using the SoT official discord and looking for a crew makes this game so much better especially early on in your pirate career. I was lucky and had a friend who had quite a bit of play time when I first started but he also had to go through all my growing pains as a pirate. I also played solo equally as often just because the game is amazing.

I've had a few low moments in the game where there wasn't much I could do but learn from what happened mostly with PVP but I am at the point with myself and the crews I play with we can look at nearly any situation and find a way out. Might be with cannonballs, or out sailing and also more importantly communicating with other crews but still being aware it's a pirate game.

Few months back probably had over 1-2 million worth of loot on my ship and it was near end of a long session. Had a chest of everlasting sorrow on board while my crew mate was doing something else on another island. I was just lost in the sailing and wasn't paying attention only to have the ship sink as I was going for a panic bucket. I just remember saying "I'm so sorry, I did a stupid" to my crew mate and we laughed it off but still was another learning experience.

Give the game another go but play with some friends or likeminded crew mates and just keep learning.

  • @warbird272 Seasoned pirates know there's a LOT of open seas from the Roar all the way to Reaper's hideout lol. It's not usually worth trudging all the way there for only 25 Doubloons unless you're making some pit stops on the way. If you island hop from the Roar to Reaper's there will be less pve events attacking you, as they usually only do in open seas.
As far as the game crashing? It's become more a feature than a bug 🤷

  • I would like to chip here a bit as well. Been sailing for a wail back befor a lot of the events happened. I agree with most what’s been said, you got to put your head on a swivel an not get caught. There are times tho I wish I could just sail with me an my crew running emmesries in safer seas. That being because I run with a casual crew. Back befor the passing of my first captain. I would wave this off an try again, but it is getting harder an harder to get new crews into the seas. I also run older equipment makes it hard to keep up with newer crews. So I get the point of view of both sides here. At the end of all this I just wish there was not leveling cap in safer seas. My thoughts there is enough PVE stuff to allow for safer seas interesting, leaving the high seas with the greater gold gain to the pvp crews letting them knock heads keep the seas churning for the rest of us.

  • There should be a timer on the frequency of PvE spawning on a player.. So they dont stack.
Getting the trifecta of Meg, Kraken & Skellie Ship at the same time can be super annoying.. even more so when other players are about.
But, id just chaulk that up to being unlucky..
And Dropping out near Reapers hideout is 100% an issue..
My buddy drops ALL the time when we sail close to it.. Myself, less so but still happens on occasion.
Just the other day, we made a bad decision to try to fight another sloop in close proximity to Reapers hideout.. We both dropped & couldnt rejoin.
    Havnt played since.
