Like you said, this would be a really cool mechanic to summon a meg. ;-)

Yes, I really do like this idea - and as was already discussed within this topic:
The idea behind this is from that original meg encounter added as a challenge from Rare.
So it would make sense for Rare to add this as a real mechanic. ;-)

Far better than having to wait for it and ending up not getting a spawn in 2 hours.

My last 2 playsessions (both 2 hours long) were without any meg spawns.
I always feel a little bit of frustration, when I head to the outpost and know I "missed" my meg spawn.

I don't always have time to play 240 mins at a time.
Having to wait up to 240 min for 1 meg spawn is not ideal, in my opinion.

I would enjoy it, if they could bring the initial spawn back to the old values.
Or even better: allow us to actively summon a meg with spawn mechanics. ;-)

I hope they listen and add this as a feature!
Even better if it was their own idea, a few years ago.

Not much we can change about this right now.
I think Rare should add something for us to make it a "hunt".

I would enjoy it, if they could bring the initial spawn back to the old values.

Yesterday we had quite a good example for this:

• our own meg did not spawn for 2 hours
• we decide to head to 2 other sloops on the horizon
• sloop nr. 1 decides to run away from us (which is great, because they stay in open waters this way)!
• we follow them and within 5 mins they get their meg spawn
• we drop anchor and kill that meg - already happy about the result ^^
• then we head to sloop nr. 2 which is friendly
• we tell them what we want, they sail to open waters: meg spawns instantly: huge success!

Never got our own meg to spawn, but managed to get 2 meg spawns from other ships.

But it just shows that there is missing a 'normal' way to increase the chances...

I really would enjoy some way to spawn a meg via hunters call or merchant voyages.
Or some way of doing an activity on your ship to get one.
Just a way to make it easier for us to get the meg to show up : or even better : a real hunt. :-)

@DrFauli latest patch notes said something about Burning Blade and meg encounters.

I hope these changes did not affect other ships on the server, while the Burning Blade is active.
We already have no world events during BB. Would be sad to also not get any megs.

Hehe, yes. I do hope that meg spawns are still working.
And I would not mind it if they silently tuned it back to ~45 mins spawn timer with that patch. ;-)

Always nice to encounter friendly players, that are able to help with meg spawns.
Sometimes they are glad that we told them about the spawn chance for each boat. =)
