Easy Anti Cheat is coming soon (Thank you, Rare! Credit where it's due!), but that doesn't mean cheaters won't exist anymore. Of course they will, but their numbers may decrease.
We know many cheaters are encountered during hourglass because the insecure lil swabbies want to find a victim as quickly as they can and ruin their day before they lose their new account and have to get another.
If hourglass is the most common place to encounter cheaters, what if we level lock hourglass? Pardon my ignorance coming from general empathy and compassion that keeps me from cheating, but would this make adventure mode worse? I don't know if they can just teleport to anyone or how that all works. I definitely don't want adventure mode to be infested, but my thought is, level lock hourglass. Not by anything crazy, but honestly how many brand new players are going to go, "You know what, I'd really like to try some hard-core pvp after my 1 hour on this game." This would, in theory, stop cheaters' new accounts from being able to hourglass if they don't actually level up their factions and play the game (if there aren't auto level up cheats? Are there? Ugh. Maybe a time-played lock). And by then, they'll probably be banned. Rare is fast with bans, and I for one appreciate it. Just sucks to know they'll be back with a new account unless they're IP banned.
Again, I don't know how they would respond to a level or time-played lock in terms of adventure mode as I don't know a whole lot about what kind of cheats are common beyond the keg spawning, aimbotting, and teleporting (and I don't even know how that works exactly). My hope would be that these scurvy dogs can't do what they do as easily as they want, and that would kinda suck. They'd have to work for it just to get banned anyway and at that rate, whats the point? Just some thoughts to bounce around. Thanks for reading.
