I was just wondering if now with the release of Season 11 and the ability/option to "Dive" with quests/voyage, how will that affect ship alliances being that you are "jumping" servers to go to the locations like a Raid or World Event? Is there any possibility in the future that SOT will look at or expand the alliances feature? I would like to see more things added being in an alliance and make it so it isn't a join and unjoin feature, that their is some type of "cooldown" that makes it more compelling to use and not be abused. I hardly find anyone that wants to be in alliances anymore. I guess now with the "Dive" feature I wonder if its even worth having the ability to be in alliances at all.
Alliances and "Diving"
That's what guilds are for. Dive, participate with others without the extreme cheesing.
I joined a guild for season 11 because I was gonna be doing a lot of solo comm work anyway, don't want it to go to waste, it helps the guild level and I'm not cheesing and they aren't cheesing off me. Still working together.

How about they would make raids available for physical travel too? Raids are so cool, but having the obligation to dive to reach them is a bit counterproductive. Diving should be only an optional convenience, for raids.
What? You mean the regular events? Like seeing the big skull cloud in the sky and, omg, "sailing" there...what kind of witchcraft is that?

Would be abused to fast travel to unsuspecting vessels closeby.
@lem0n-curry You have misread me. I said: making raids available for physical travel. Not for diving. Do you even read? What would be abused that you sail from fort to fort and have loots that matches your emissary? Honestly. Dude.

I did misread your post, thought you wanted to go to an active worldevent without changing server.
How do you envisage making a world event into a specific trading company one ? How would it work if several crews one the same server activate this ? What about a crew already busy on it - have they have the loot switch to your trading company ?
Or would you want multiple world events on one server ?I haven't thought about this part. I'm only talking about the newish ghost forts with the 2 keys, for the moment, but sure it can extend to all of these raids. How? Simply by including the related loots. For example, when you do trader emissary, you get fine diamond crates which have a good value. So the items produced by, say, raids on skeletton forts, would include diamond crates and other commodities... The scenario would be that the skeleton overlord raided a merchant emissary boat and you recover the goods for the company. So... Instead of diving, and losing all loots on board, you sail to location by the winds and still get emissary-related loots. There could even be an increase in the amount of loots as you stack raids by sailing by the winds!
Also if there are already players by a fort, IDK, you cannot just spawn a brand new one on spot, so you find a new one, or you ally, or you attack.
Islands naturally regenerates already. Even when you have both feet on the sand. So it'S really spontaneous already. If you're already at an empty fort and that you didn't complete it already on the same server, and engage in a quest, it would probably automatically regenerate the fort to the right thing... But if you clear it before, then it wouldn't work. Then when you're done and have made all forts, you can dive to a new server.

You could sell before diving.
Sailing towards a sea fort and then having the loot changed wouldn't make sense IMO.

I wasn't talking about what you can do with or against the other crew, but how & why should the loot change ? A Gold Hoarder does the Fort, you (e.g. as ooS) sail up and sink them and complete the fort, would the loot change ? What if they stopped doing the fort before you arrived ? What if you complete the fort and they return - it was a GH fort before.

AFAIK they want to have the raids for some loot of the emissary you're diving / raiding for, then continue on the server with either sail to emissary specific voyages, or do events, sea forts or sunken kingdom which have general loot. or sell and dive to another emissary specific voyage or event.
They might think that having sea forts &c on one server all being emissary specific might make levelling to grade 5 too easy ? Or as noted above, it would make it too hard to control/make changes to sea forts or shrines that may have been "activated" one way or another.Due to how diving works I can't see this happening sadly. I guess I wont be doing raid commendations. I already dislike the forced server merger if you're too far from other ships the amount of diving off the servers now is kinda crazy. While yes upside most ships you see now shoudl be on their way back from getting loot instead of before where you would chase after empty ships half the time. This also means less likely to find a stacking ship which was always fun to sink someone and see 100 items floating up to the surface.
Added negative or positive depending on your point of view it's just another anti alliance server update to add to the list.
For me I like sailing around and staying on my server. It also feels weird to me having to load onto a server from the main menu if you're just going to dive right after you load in. We already have to click 10 options to set sail in the first place. While the intent is to get you to the gameplay faster we now are clicking through more menus and waiting on more loading screens.
@lem0n-curry I think having the key that opens the door generate the loot inside makes more sense. So if you are on a voyage for the special loot if your crew kills the boss he drops your unique key. So all vaults would be empty until specific keys are inserted. Seems like the easiest way to do it.
