do cannon balls and chains have hitreg problem too?

  • i just cannon balled and chain shot a sloop mast and it didn't fall. is this the hitreg problem?

  • They can do yes, probably rarer than hit reg issues with weapon projectiles but def still a thing. Or it could be they instantly planked their mast and offset some of the damage you had done.
    Need 3 cannons, 2 chains or a chain and a cannon to take it down, if after you chained they put a plank on it would need 2 cannons to drop mast

  • yeah it happens from time to time

    they've also tightened up the chain shots quite a bit over time so sometimes something that looks like it should count, doesn't

    Like HiradC brought up there are some pretty efficient repair crews out there that can get one plank on in between shots

  • @ptsunthrifty chains might I have taken down masts and gotten the little music that plays when you hit a shot but I know I missed

  • Chains and cannons both reg. However, it takes two chains or three cannons to down a sloop mast as it was buffed a couple months ago.

  • Sometimes I see a chain shot that looks like it didn't hit, but then it regs and the mast drops, so yes, I do think ships also have hit reg issues.
