Dear Rare,
I am sending this suggestion because I have been sitting here for atleast 3 months trying to find a good character. I still have yet to find a good one, so please Rare just add character customisation.

Glad you like your own idea. I completely disagree with the idea, myself. I much prefer the imperfect pirates the IPG provides us. I have come to love the flaws of my avatar in time, they make it unique compared to other pirates out on the seas. Don't let perfection be the enemy of progress.

This is like when I am in the kitchen cooking and feeling experimental and start talking myself into all kinds of culinary concoctions.
On the topic I have changed my view on this over time as the environment has changed and as I have spent more and more time thinking about it.
I think more customization makes more sense in the current environment.
Re-rolls and costumes have lead random to be much less of a reality and due to that it's overall significantly less impactful. Customization on the other hand now offers significant qol and immersion improvements.
Especially when it comes to female characters that female players and players that enjoy immersing with female characters pick. Imo they have had far less opportunity to create characters that more align with their view of femininity. At this point customization will just allow people to be served more that really haven't quite been served as much as someone like me imo.
A gender filter and clothing options (and maybe some camera control) would make the IPG a million times more convenient without hurting its intended purpose.
I would prefer such changes over full on customization, as the randomness of the IPG makes it kinda cool when you encounter a unique pirate :)sitting here for atleast 3 months trying to find a good character. I still have yet to find a good one
Seems to be a you problem. Spending so much time over a character, 99% of the time you won’t even see unless you emote or main menu.
Your missing out on the game if you hold yourself back because you “want a perfect pirate”
if your using the pirate generator with a specific look in mind, you wont find anything ever, if you have a very rough idea of what you would like, then go for that, but what you choose isnt that important unless you plan to tuck, otherwise, you will hardly ever see your character.
Favorite a character that doesnt look bad, cycle through a bit, and if you find another character that isnt bad, favorite them, choose between the 2, and do that for a few minutes, and who ever your left with, choose them!
They dont want to implement a character creator because they believe if they add one, that people wont make their pirates "ugly enough", and if we are being honest, people would make their characters look like other characters from famous media, look as nice as they can, or make their character so memeably hideous that it would haunt your nightmares.
