Sea of thieves has a growing player base and a lot of DLC cosmetics are sought after (Ferryman, Blackdog,)
The Ferryman Controller holding the ferryman DLC, and an exclusive Hard drive containing the midnight blunderbuss
now these are very sought after items in the community and are really nice looking cosmetics me personally owning some of them but these aren't and won't ever be available again with the Ferryman controller being outrageous prices upwards of 500 dollars and the obsidian DLCs aren't in circulation with some being twitch drops now and again
so as much as I could complain about how they could bring them back they're is one way everyone could be happy
a new sea of thieves controller with new DLCs
for designs it could possibly be athena's fortune or have reaper bones designs it could retail for as much as the ferryman controller was on launch which was roughly 80-100 dollars now as far as the cosmetics go...
new obsidian clothing set - be a model of the aristocrat with the obsidian colors black and emeralds
more ferryman cosmetics (sniper)
new sails customization
or a completely new cosmetic set
Please give thoughts on opinions on this idea I understand that majority of players are on PC but I still don't think the idea would be useless and plenty of people would still buy it
New Sea of thieves controller with new DLC cosmetics
@myst8457
I'm all for a new controller. But:- I don't want the Ferryman set given out again
- I don't want a new set for the new controller when that set could've been in the game for something else.
- I'm fine with only a few cosmetics being tied to the controller, but in general a whole set tied to real money was never the right idea.
I think the perfect thing to tie to a Series SoT controller would be the Obsidian Banjo.
@myst8457 I've said it before as well.
Im in.
New Sot controller and a Ferryman reskin. Similar pattern but very different colors.
@captain-coel No.
-
the first go around was a failure. Not only was it scalped but I saw a forum post that some boxes didnt even have the code in it and people were just told to get a refund. very poor handling of the situation where they could have just given them a replacement code.
-
if they were to do it, it has to be the ferryman set again because of the previous issues.
Not only the previous issues but they threw the sword in our face with the pirates life update when cpt jack sparrow is holding it during a loading screen
-
@madfrito99 I didn't hear of a single retail box not having a code so that's new. The scalping is something that unfortunately happens in many markets.
And it was used for the Pirates Life tall tales because it's the Ferrymans sword. Not just a random sword, but the one for the dude who runs the ferry.
If it's not a reskin I'm against it.
@captain-coel here is another one:
the idea is cool but they dont stand behind the person who makes the purchase if something goes wrong
I wouldn't put too much of wight over that. Sometimes errors happen and package doesn't include all pieces of paper, which is why companies write answers for the questions before they get answered. You can find similar instructions for Midnight BB.
Not to mention, the post was updated in mid-21. It is likely you could have gotten a replacement back when the controller came out, but they won't be giving them out now 3-years after the controller came out for people who didn't "get a code" for a obvious reason.
So unless you find mass reports of people crying out loud for not getting a controller in a box back when it came out, I wouldn't claim so having happenedJust out of curiosity why? At this point in the game are you exclusively wearing only the Ferryman's set? If not I don't see why it would be such a huge concern and I would love to hear a better reason than simply, "I bought the controller first and it shouldn't be released again". There have been so many more unique pieces, and don't get me wrong, why not releasing something that was a day one exclusive or unique date release wouldn't be cool. However, say Rare just manufactured the same controller and made a bunch more codes how would that be any less valid than when you got yours?

Yay, but nay. The Obsidian banjo is ridiculously rare, and there would be lots of controversy. I want a recolor of something that doesn't have one already.
@c4pt-lucky because like he said people have already spent upwards of 500 dollars for the controller and sometimes only for the code and at this point it’s extremely unfair to those people to re-release. And if they re-release as well that will destroy all the hype around them and wouldn’t even really make that many people happy since it’s not like they’re getting a rare outfit anymore and will also make plenty of people very upset.
Games all the time do this where they re-release their rarest cosmetics and it usually doesn’t make people that happy, speaking for the people that don’t have it. Everyone wants it when it’s rare, but as soon as it will be common it will just be another random outfit in that game.
