Help with FPS

    I'm wanting to make the switch from Series X to my PC, but am having fps issues. I've decreased all settings to cursed, and still only reach about 30 fps max. 10 if I'm on an island or swimming. Anyone more tech savvy that can tell me if it's my PC specs or something else? I've looked at the recommended specs, and I seem to meet or exceed all of them. My specs are listed below:

    Windows 10
    Ryzen 5 1600
    16GB ram
    Radeon RX 580

    I'll also add that my PC runs most other games just fine. I also play Apex, Warzone, GW2, WoW, AC:Valhalla and Halo Infinite. All of which run fine, if not great on mid to high settings.

    I just got an issue currently when I open menus in-game or the Xbox game bar that FPS will drop from around 80 to around 10.

    Make sure you haven't set "Resolution Scaling" to more than 100, from the video settings.
    Also make sure your "Display Mode" is in Fullscreen.
    Setting "Buffering" to Quadruple will also give you more stable FPS.

    Something changed in the most recent patch, maybe the one before it, which caused FPS to tank. What's helped for myself and others is:

    1. Turn off Windows Game Mode in your Windows Settings. You can search for it in your start menu. For the most part, Game Mode helps games run smoother, but not with this particular version of SoT.
    2. Turn off background recording in Game Bar. This wasn't always an issue, but now causes FPS to drop.

    Following both of these steps boosted my lowest FPS by 30-40%, particularly when going in and out of menus, like using barrels.

    @discyfer1132 Your series x is stronger than that pc. why do ypu want to make the transition?
