I wouldn't say Graymarrow is unappreciated, he is very much woven into the lore around Flameheart, Sir Arthur Pendragon and others who have had their souls trapped. He is the go-to for that kind of dark magic.
Fair enough! It's more of a personal opinion tbh. I just think other Skeleton Lords generally have a bigger spotlight. I always think of the other Lords like they are the main villains (except Briggsy, she's more of a like a not good but not bad character that shoved her hand too far in the cookie jar, and now regrets her skeletal form for vanity reasons). Greymarrow always struck me as a sort of side villain, kinda like a Waluigi type villain, whereas Flameheart and The Gold hoarder are more of a Bowser and Wario type villains, with a lot larger influences, (and followers, for that matter).
A lot of players are indifferent to him because it was seen as lazy when he was re-used as a ghost for the Fort of the Damned (and the Fate of the Damned limited time event), having already been a major boss in the Tall Tales with the same move set earlier that year (it didn't help that he's such a bullet sponge). Feedback which was addressed when they added later bosses.
Yeah, definitely was kinda lazy, and Rare kinda stupified the character in my eyes, as he's a literal shadow of his former self, he doesn't even have any dialogue. He just acts like a Caveman instead of a cunning and scheming Lord.
I'm fairly sure we will get more involvement from him as the Flameheart saga continues.
Probably! I do hope It goes beyond the usual, "Oh, this famous pirate is another guy Greymarrow preformed voodoo on and slapped in a rock" or whatever. IMHO his followers should have more impact to the Sea of Thieves, like a Tall Tale where we find out they have one of Greymarrow's book of curses that they want to use to capture Flameheart, and we have to steal it and eventually use it on Flameheart in the tall tale(s).
Regarding cosmetics, I wouldn't be against them adding some based on him - sword, bandana, beard, jacket and trousers.
I am a sucker for cosmetics, so I definitely agree! Even his bandana would be nice!
As for his appearance in the Athena's Fortune book/audiobook, that's in Chapter 13, mainly, though he is referred to later as well. Briggsy and Slate also appear in Chapter 13.
Thanks mate! I'll have to check it out.
