Fotd captain glitch

  • Two ways to possibly fix this is to find a way to cause the enemies to not glitch anymore
    Or
When you kill the captain to get the key to spawn in the fortress
(Or make it to where when you kill the boss have the door be unlocked and you have to go to it and open it)

Story behind it: me and my friend rolled up to the island being deserted while being on the boss fight, while fighting we had gotten the boss incredibly low, then randomly the boss glitched into the ground, after a few minutes of lobbing fire bombs and blunderbombs the boss finally died, but to our misfortune the key either had spawned inside of the vault or it spawned inside of the ground where the boss was glitched inside of

  • I really wish they would just get rid of the fort keys altogether. It would eliminate these glitches along with the server merge "duplications", and it would eliminate the run-with-the key move.

  • Idea: have the key spawn in a dedicated spot like the floor above the vault room. Instead of it spawning where the boss dies have it always spawn there in that circular room. It eliminates it being glitched into walls or under the island.

I'm sorry for saying this, but this one is on you guys. When bosses glitch, you must never kill them. You have to find a way to reset them.

If bombs and cannons aren't helping, simply have all crew members visit the ferry of the damned all together at the same time. When you spawn back you will notice the boss' position has been reset, and he's now waiting for you in the fort's main hall, exactly where he spawned initially.

    Eliminate key-chases? Nah, that's a fun experience.

To a veteran player, sure it's easy to say that they should've known better and known how to reset an island. But, imagine you're a newer player, you and your also new-to-the-game friends just finished your first skeleton fort! Hooray! Then you discover the key is unretrievable...sweet game...guess we'll go back to Fortnite

One of the many struggles of new players. We've all been there.

When I was a new player and I encountered bugs and things I considered "unfair" I didn't come here to immediately request for the devs to change the game. I coped and found ways to deal with the problems.

Such things are part of the journey. People must learn to appreciate them.

Our interpretations of fun differ. Though I would say, I'd the door just automatically opened upon completion, you could chase the loot or chase the most valuable piece of the loot should someone escape with it if you really love the chase.

My opinion on fort keys stems from them being a WORLD event, not the event of a single crew. So, why should one crew control the fate of the loot without ever touching the loot? Seeing fort keys get red-sea'd, or bugged in OP's case, is just such a lame ending to an otherwise fun event.

You and I are not the people that a mechanical change would help. We were going to come back no matter what bugs and nuances we encountered. It's the people that are on the edge. The people that find the game intriguing, but need that "win" to really want to come back. The people that are on back-to-back-to-back defeats early on in their SOT days and are finally getting a chance to win...only to get Rare'd.

Keeping a mechanic in the game that serves no purpose other than to cause problems is just asinine at this point. This has been a problem for years, now, and more new players are coming to the game than ever before. I'd say it's time to change the mechanic in some way. Even if it just keeps a small number of people from abandoning the game, that's a success.
