    Are you actually ever going to sort the match making out? cos I'm sick to death of joining open crews to have some fun with other people to get 200+ ping or matched in servers where my crew mate tells me they don't understand English.

    Like what the actual hell.
    The more you apparently 'fix' the more you seem to break things.
    I understand some things break, and need time to be fixed but its never been this way before.

    These last 3 updates have near enough broke the game for me.

    So I'll ask once again, STOP putting us into servers outside our regions, please.

    It's pretty clear at this point by putting us into servers overseas it is what is causing all the issues (ping/hitreg/rubberbanding) we're all having.

    It'll only take so much before I delete the game and never look back and trust me I'm pretty close to that line at the moment.

    @galactic-geek Honestly at this point I doubt the code even works, they're always messing with the servers and breaking things.

    I'm 100% sure though it doesn't put me anywhere in my region cos I have people talking different languages to me, or they say they're from the US or Canada.
    I'm in the UK, how the hell I'm matching with Americans, Canadians, Chinese people and god knows who else cos I didn't stick round long enough to find out cos of rubber banding so much.

    something is broken for sure and I'm only getting put into low Ping servers when I go onto closed crew.

    I don't have low ping on open crew. It's super confusing and frustrating I wanna play the game not sit panicking when my ping is going to go skyhigh, or my shots aren't going to register or try do a sword lunge to see the animation happen to then be dragged back to my ship.

    Kept my mouth shut for too long now my xbox days we're way worse, I don't even get how some people can even play on xbox I switched to PC cos it was that bad I couldn't imagine how bad it is now 5 months on.

    I don't think that Rare really cares about open crew because they have such a successful public discord that the only people who play open crew are either brand new players, or trolls. If you want to find a good crew to play with that wants to do the same things you do, use the official Sea of Thieves discord. Over 230,000 members, and constant LFG posts with players wanting to do voyages, arena, talltales, and world events.

    Now if you already use the SOT discord and you're just trying get Rare to change how open crew works, I highly doubt they're going to for the aforementioned reasons above. Most people who've played the game for 100+ hours has left open crew and either plays with friends or people through xbox & discord LFG's. Open crew (IMO) isn't worth Rare's time fixing because the only people who play it are either brand new or trolls, so I don't think that they're going to spend time fixing open crew when they don't have to.

    Sir you should really, really - read what I've put.
    I'm not bothered about who I play with I'm more annoyed at the fact I'm been put into servers that have insane ping. I'll play with whoever as long as they understand partly what is going on, the main issue is my ping. I teleport everywhere on open crew. If I'm alone I don't.
    I'm 100% convinced they put me in US servers or AUS or even one that's half way around the world from me and it makes it more clear the fact the people I'm joining say they don't understand English most the time.

    And just for the record I would not join people using discord. I don't even use discord and I shouldn't have to make an account just to find a good crew and neither should anybody else. Open crew is there for a reason to match us with other players.

    I have people I play along side, but sometimes new faces are cool, I love helping new pirates out I've got most coms, gold, and completed most tasks I play the game because it's an awesome game.

    The issue is when our connection to that server is absolute garbage cos it's taking longer than it should to relay information between all clients that are not within that servers hosting region.

    They is no reason to do this and they need to stop doing it because it's getting out of control now making it unplayable for some of us.
    And if it's the case of they don't want me to play their game then they might aswell refund me now and I'll delete my account.

    It's as easy as that.

    @josephtodd Matchmaking has always had issues:

    • Extended "Sailing the Seas" when queuing with cross-platform players.
    • Set sail screen will show users in queue, via the green fill bar but no user name fills resulting in an Almondbeard.
    • Matchmaking fills the most immediate queue regardless of region and results in high ping servers during off-peak hours.

    If Rare cannot guarantee matchmaking in lowest ping servers and/or add server lists, then they need to add an argument in the .ini file to only search servers ≤ specified value.

    The only workaround at this point is to host a server by queuing a closed crew and then open the crew after you have loaded into the instance.

    @josephtodd Queuing closed crew will always give you the lowest possible ping in your region. Towards the end of the update cycle, there is a significant drop off in players and queuing open crew will match you into other regions especially during your off peak hours.

    @bizi-betiko I've had this problem the last three updates though an I pretty much play 4/7 days a week for long periods of time.

    It does make sense towards the end of the update cycle but at the start and middle make no sense.

    I had the same issues on xbox but shrugged it off that xbox is trash, so went to PC and now I'm facing the same issues.

    It proper demotivates you from playing all these issues, I honestly don't blame past players for calling it a day and finding a new game I'm about ready to if these server issues continue, as I'm sure many, many others are too.
