    BALANCING OF MATCHES: Matches would be balanced according to the rank of people

    So there gonna be a lot of people in matches who never sink players....until one day they do. Losing friends because the 'match up' wont let them meet them.

  • that's not balancing that's stacking the deck

    pirates can form whatever arrangement they want on their own but when it comes to the official algorithm and system it should not only work efficiently to keep things moving but also should support their philosophy of being a game that is welcoming to all pirates and all types of piracy. Random interactions with all different types not only maintains server balance but it also creates an environment where all different types interact and can potentially become friends and/or crew mates

    Not everyone is out to sink or kill others. Many just want to explore, learn, participate in events, make friends, etc. Your idea is bad for numerous reasons:

    It splits the piratebase unnecessarily.

    It gives certain pirates a sense of meaningless entitlement.

    It promotes negative interactions over positive ones, like alliances.

    It makes it harder and longer to matchmake with others.
