[SUGGESTION] Let people use lower tier skins after upgrade + UI

okay, the title doesn't tell much about what this is about, but I didn't know how to word it better. So basically what I mean is:
Imagine you are leveling up... I dunno reapers bones right? and you just hit LVL 50. You purchase the max tier Figurehead, put it on, and ur like Ewww I don't like that (cuz it's a meh skeleton instead of epic dude in a golden mask obviously), so you want to put it back on the Tier 40 figurehead. Buuuuuuuuuuuuut its gone. You paid for it, you owned it, but now that you purchased this, it's gone.

I find this a really bad design that when you buy an upgrade, it erases its previous version instead of just giving you all of them. I mean, you paid gold for them, you should own them, and what if you wanna wear lower-tier skins or simply find the higher tier skins ugly?

Here is an idea I had on how this could work if you guys at Rare would be willing to consider this:

so in this screenshot that I photoshopped, you can see that this person has already acquired ALL of the reapers cannons, but let's say that he really doesn't like how the golden best one looks, so when he clicks the cannon in his inventory, this is what happens, and he can now click on the bar down there to select a lower-tier skin which he already earned. In this case, the person has decided that Renowned reaper cannons are what he wishes to equip, and so he clicks on the lower bar inside the skin display, and the Renowned Reaper Cannon is selected.

See to save space in your Skin collection, you would only have the highest available tier in there, but when you click on it, you get these lower options down there under the description and you can choose which version you want, since technically you bought all of them, then you should own all of them.
