A concept that would be really fun to play would be the ability to control a skeleton ship. You would board a skeleton ship, kill its captain and you would be in command, having a bunch of skeleton sailors at your service!
I know a lot of players are traumatized by those ships, especially galleons one (yesterday it took us 50 cannonballs + some percussion to finish the job) but I feel like there would a lot of ways to balance it.
Obtention
- World event giving you a magical tricorne allowing you to control a skeleton ship
- Kill the captain (you can even make it a pirate lord to increase the difficulty, an intense fight on a ship would be epic)
- Special ships that would be seeable by everyone on the map, which you could choose to either sink for the loot or control it
- ...
Control
- Only driving it and skellies can do the rest of the job
- Giving general orders (go to this island, attack that ship, ... )
You could argue that having a skeleton crew would be broken but again, this could be balanced by having a starting skeletons pool that won't respawn if killed by another player or a cannonball or respawning skeletons but you could have a very limited number.
You could also say there is a lore problem because skeletons are supposed to be cursed pirates but replace them with lost souls you'd have delivered with Arthur Pendragon and that's sufficient.
What do you guys think?
