Does the back-end of this game not utilize elastic load-balancing for server demand???

  • A new patch dropped. Lots of people will want to be playing. You host a game on the Microsoft store. Microsoft owns Azure. Azure features load-balancing and elastic autoscaling for server demand. I don't understand why in a cloud pervasive infrastructure as today provides, games would not have servers elastically spinning up to prevent performance issues. It's not cost, the point of elasticity is they are off when you don't need them, meaning you don't pay... 5 hours trying multiple times each hour and I have yet to get past the mysterious stranger photo before getting hit with a server connection failed error. Instead of adding tons of accessibility options to the game, first, fix your game's infrastructure so people can play it.

This happens in literally every single game I've played; whenever a new update with some significant content drops, a ton of people all log in at the same time, causing the servers to have problems processing everything.
