No Install Option on Microsoft Store

  • My friend uninstalled Sea of Thieves a few months back. He got it from G2A.com as a digital code. He recently tried to reinstall it from the Microsoft store but it never gives him an option to install. It's like it thinks he never had the game. He also tried checking his download library but Sea of Thieves is nowhere to be found. He is from the UK too with the right region placed on his PC settings. Someone help please

  • @gamingpotates I would’ve said go to Xbox Home screen on the console or on the PC Xbox App, and then go to ‘My Games and Apps’, and then go to ‘Ready to Install’ and it should be there.

If not I’d suggest getting in touch with Xbox Support - who may possibly point you to G2A - so contact both.

Rare / SoT forums won’t be the place to find resolution except for getting ideas (such as mine) from the community.

Best of luck to your friend.

  • Maybe the liscence was disabled?

This can happen if keys are flagged as not being obtained legitimately.

It's quite well known that G2A is a market place where stolen keys are sold.

    Regardless though contact Microsoft.

  • @gamingpotates Ahoy there.

You aren't the only one. Check here! https://windowsreport.com/windows-10-store-install-button-missing/

  • G2A is a grey market key seller. Most of the keys there are bought with a stolen credit card. If the victim performs a charge back, it's likely that Microsoft just deactivated the key.

Microsoft and Rare aren't going to help with keys purchased thru G2A. You'll need to go through them. Odds are your friend is out of luck.
