Upon spawning into a new game on a sloop I noticed two Reapers chest marks not far from me so I made for them immediately. After rounding a corner I noticed a sloop and brig parked together, now realizing one of the reapers was on board one of them. I plowed through ignoring the odd gathering off to the unclaimed reaper and dove in to snatch it.
When I breached the surface, the sloop and brig were upon me, easily snatching the chest and turning my boat into Swiss cheese. In the melee many a cocky barb were slung my way, but by some miracle, I dispatched the intruders and saved my ship, beginning my pursuit.
It was clear at that point that the boats were in cahoots, so I recruited a trusted crewmate to join my crew to see if I could get my revenge. In the fray, they acquired another reaper chest, the brig also flying the reaper flag, taking their cockiness to the next level and increasing my thirst for revenge.
Fast forward to our near demise where we were down to almost no supplies and on the run from them both. I sailed us to a skelly ship and recruited them to join the chaos. To our benefit, the ship focused it's ire upon the brig! My crewmate jumped in the water and boarded the brig during the chaos and stole a reaper chest! I was able to make a turn back to his position and pick him up. My chest was back in hand, and revenge was mine. Fate, it would seem, had further plans for our enemy...
The kraken appeared and took hold of the brig, a meg appeared and a second skelly ship joined the fight! In the insanity, the enemy sloop also got caught in the krakens grasp. We joined in by canonning ourselves into the mix further intensifying their plight.
All ships sank save ours and all 3 reapers chests were in our hands, nicely packed into a rowboat.
Sweet, sweet Reaper's Revenge.
