You can go to the other crews menu and view all the profiles to screen who is on pc and who isnt. Use this tool to avoid those pc players in arena. You might have to cycle some games but it will help enaure you have a fun and fair arena experience till optional crossplay arrives.

@itz-majman if they ever make pvp fair between pc and xbox
I'm sure they could, but it still most likely wouldn't line up with your personal ideals for it.
Sure PC got a slight boost with movement but you easily dominate with controller if you get used to higher sens
@itz-majman not even remotely they macro canons that lets them fire them like machineguns. You cant stun lock them with a sword and if you hit them you still get a sword delay. Its absurd how much rare has programmed the game to benefit such a small group of people.
So I made this guide to help xbox players avoid being cheated out of wins till the opt out comes
@blatantwalk4260
This is just so wrong. I'm pretty sure macros only make 1 key act like a couple, the rest of those issues sounds like lag@blatantwalk4260 said in For those of you who dont want to crossplay in the arena:

The argument over macro's have been debunked. Creating a macro doesn't help with cannons or anything else in this game.
The fact that you still go on and on about macro's shows that you know nothing about macros.
Hey bit of advice to anyone reading this thread.
If you want wins in the Arena this is how you do it. You ready??
You play the Arena and you stop using PC players as an excuse. Out of a crew of 8 to 9 people, I'm the only PC player. Guess what my friends have over a 50% win ratio. They play without me all the time.
Its not PC, its strategy. You can win arena without firing a single cannon ball. Its being smart and knowing what you need to do and paying attention to the game.
There you go.

I'm pretty sure use of macros is a bannable offense, I would instead emplore that you record and raise tickets of such extremely rare instances.
A much better solution than using the actions of very few people to suggest that rare deliberately intended it to be a issue.

Finally some common sense.
I raise my glass to you.

The movement is relative to two things, sensitivity and FPS .
This is why I suggested a 60 fps mode for both consoles at the cost of some barely noticeable graphics tweaks.
It would solve a lot.
Improved movement on controller, faster refresh rate which will help you in many areas, and slightly lower asset quality equals improved load times.
Sorted, no need for opt out.
Sincerely

If Rare knows what they're doing, fps shouldn't affect move speed. I don't know about unreal that much, but I'd assume that theres some kind of delta time variable they use for movement. Now high fps does allow you to have more fine movement and you see things smoother, so a performance mode is still good.@blazedrake100 said in For those of you who dont want to crossplay in the arena:

This is why personally I would lean more to a performance mode.
There was a good video I see recently about desktop mouse cursors and frame rates.
It explains a lot and really backs up what I'm saying, I will try and find it.
@nabberwar while he may be que dodging he still is preferring a preference to play on a similar platform. I myself and crew haven't touched Arena due to it being a competition on unequal hardware for all with scoring and win tallies.
@inboundbomb
Abstaining from entering is different though, he is willingly gaming the system and ruining the experience of others. Can't ruin the game for others, if you never join the game to begin with. Queue dodging is intentionally leaving your team, this forces your crew to play short handed, or simple quit as well. That is simple poor sportsmanship.@nabberwar
In the end though I see the opt out will never work and will still cause uncertainty and unrest do to not being completely separated servers. Like Rare said it's a choice preference not an opt out so we will see this to probably be more prevalent in the future.@inboundbomb said in For those of you who dont want to crossplay in the arena:

And the devs have showed they prefer lobbies to be full, and prioritize server population above platform preference.
Preference is not a guarantee. People should feel free to server hop all they want, but accept as well the consequences of their bad sportsmanship and the fact that their actions impact the whole lobby.

Besides, once opt-out will be in play, the chances people will be matched with the "wrong" pool will probably be quite low and only one odd lobby will end up mixed no? I doubt this will be such a problem when the time comes.
@bloodybil it will depend on the person. For example me for instance will never come back to a game that punished me for how i want to play or who I wanted to play with let alone if there were a disconnect from the server or game froze for an unexpected reason and i get punished. It's illogical and unfortunate.

It should work the other way around as well though, what if cross play servers are struggling to migrate? In that case it should force backfill the pool with console players even if their preference is opt out until those numbers become stable.
It's also a very real possibility this will happen with regards to less consistent cross play servers, the amount of users declaring they don't wish to cross play is likely bigger than the entire PC player base.
Just saying "it will be fine for you, everyone wins" really isn't valid.

As for freezes and disconnects, this has been confirmed in a reddit post by a dev that they are working on a reconnect feature, so there's that.
Punishment wise, you are not being punished for wanting to play a certain way, you would be punished for throwing the game, and ruining the match of a whole lobby and wasting all these people's time. It's like saying "It's unfair, I got punished because I desired this candy bar on the candy stand" while being caught stealing. You don't get punished for your desires, but your actions and their consequences.
By getting in queue, and activating the crossplay preference (once its there), you are still acknowledging that the game will try to match you with certain people but there is no guarantee.
Besides, if you end up matched with opt-ins, it will mean there simply wasn't enough opt-outs in the pool. Quitting and re-joining right away won't change that.
@bloodybil In the end then when players that prefer to opt out and do not get what they want i believe will still do the back out. Adventure is where I will call home and I can be LVL 50 in the Sea dogs in less than a day and never step foot on unequal playing ground on a competitive scale. Punishing players will do no good in my opinion and what you all have been going through will continue or as you hope it will stop them from doing it.

And they are very welcome to do so if they please - with the simple downside of having a delay before rejoining another lobby upon leaving an unfinished game. (Still talking arena here)

I prefer adventure as well, to me it's the heart of the game. That said, I don't see why the merge/preferences rules would be different in adventure: the devs said many time in the past how they want lobbies to be full, I don't see them letting 1 crew being all alone on the server and not merging them because of preference mismatch. I am pretty sure that merges will happen as usual, with the added clause that the crews merged together will hopefully be regrouped by player pool as much as possible. If not possible, oh well, mismatch may happen; preference, no guarantee.
Punishing players will do no good in my opinion and what you all have been going through will continue or as you hope it will stop them from doing it.
You are entitled to your opinion, mine is that wasting your crew's time by ditching them and dooming them to a boring, frustrating and unlikely winnable match deserves a consequence. It's no better than trolling your own crew, AFKing or throwing the game, and deserves a consequence. (Arena)
As for adventure, who knows if there even will be notifications that opt-ins are being merged with opt-outs. If people want to quit their unfinished voyages, ditch their supplied ship and hop server at the mere notification of a PC player existing in their lobby, they can do as they please, since it only affect them, I don't see any penalty necessary for that.
@bloodybil I agree that others may ditch but I will myself will never enter the arena without a full crew, My crew! So we don't hurt others in gameplay if we leave if things are not what we will get. We are already notified if we are thrown back into the other pool and can dashboard before anything starts up. Competitive play deserves equal playing grounds.... nothing more and nothing less. Adventure is not competitive playing so it can remain as is for all I care. The one rule I live by in all competitive play is you must be on equal hardware.
