Blunder bust

  • Crew and I (1xbox player and 2pc) dont think the Blunderbust should be 1 shot kill. Cause 80percent of the time it doesnt work for us but arena players come right up ladder and kill all of us in just one shot. Not fare at all.

  • If it's not a 1-shot at point-blank range, then it won't even really be worth using.

That said, if you're waiting for someone to climb the ladder just so you can kill them, then you're doing it wrong. Fire early, because the knockback will still knock them off of the ladder if even 1 pellet hits - remember, pirates are a lot easier to kill in the water, and their boat's a man down as long as they stay there.

  • The way the Blunderbuss works: when you fire it, multiple pellets are expelled, each one doing it's own damage. To get a 1-hit-kill, you have to fire in a way that causes most (if not all) of the pellets to connect to your target. This means a 1-hit-kill requires some skill. The good news is you can attain that skill through practice as well. The best thing to do is jump in adventure mode, and when you spawn into an outpost, go around shooting things, noticing the spread of the shot at different distances.

It sucks to be 1-hit-killed, but it's not a hack, nor a cheat, nor a buff, which means it's not actually unfair. With some practice, you should be able to do it more effectively as well.

  • @bactatankbill 1 pellet = 10% damage. Blunderbuss = 10 pellets. All 10 have to hit to kill a pirate, and that's why you gotta be point-blank.

precicely. Not easy, but also not unfair.

It means u Let them get to close to u. Take distance and a 1 hit will not happen.

  • My issue with the blunderbuss is the spread needs to be larger after about 5 meters. Right now you can be blasted lose almost half health if it’s fired below deck on you at a good distance away. The knock back creates distance which by the time you try to reposition they have reloaded and fired again taking a quarter or half health again. You either eat or shoot back.

To me this creates an imbalance in play. The flintlock does 50 damage but requires a more precise shot which is harder then a spread gun. I like the flintlock for its versatility. You can fire the flintlock at a target without ADS but it’s risky to waste a shot. However when going against a blunder user this is the tactic I have to employ. Move back strafing around and judge the hipfire shot.

If they tweaked the spread to be wider outside of 5 meters you’d best choose a different weapon if you want to hit farther out. This would allow the weapons to fall into a range of use. As of now Arena and most encounters have turned into blunderbuss pistol combos due to the blunderbuss taking almost half health a good amount of distance. Followed by a quick pistol shot and you eliminated an opponent quickly.

Forget the blunderbuss, you should be asking when arr they gonna fix that stupid ladder trick. Its been around as long as i can remember.
Kinda dumb you can get a shot off that quick and still grab the ladder
