Let us run a little when holding treasure

  • Walking with treasure is cumbersome. Just give us a small speed boost - halfway between a sprint and a walk - when we attempt to run with treasure in our hands.

  • Not being able to sprint with treasure is intentional and changing that would be horrible for the game. Carting treasure makes you vulnerable, as it very well should. Literally nothing needs to change about this.

    As a rule of thumb, if a suggestion is about making the game easier without any significant gameplay, balance, or functional justification, then it's most likely a Bad Suggestion™.

  • @wildbloodoz It's designed to make you more vulnerable when carrying loot. Works well.

  • If your ping is low you can lootsprint, by dropping, holding the pickup button and sprinting again.

  • @vulgrim-pvp Yep, since we can already do this, I'm actually okay with the OP's idea, provided it eliminates the tediousness of the drop and go method (which should be eliminated regardless of whether the OP's idea is implemented or not)...

    Heck, even the visual of attempting to run with the chest without any actual speed boost would be fine, IMO - it would show a sense of urgency or panic.

    Personally, I think it should be only slightly faster than walking speed, if at all.

  • What's wrong? Can't figure out how to escape with your treasure?

    You have to count on not being able to move fast while hoisting a chest or heavy gold skull.
    It's called strategy, and it's not just reserved for turn based games.

    I say no more nerfing.

    (I can see that the keys and small items shouldn't hinder a hasty retreat, but still... the norm is for big treasure items,)

    A jogging pace should be reasonable. You are still vulnerable because you can't fire a weapon. Swimming speed would be the same. Jogging with treasure will not disadvantage other players in any way. It could work.

  • You are already in between walk and sprint speed. Your default speed is actually running. You can go much slower then that if you walk intentionally :)

    they need to patch this exploit. it's been in the game too long.

  • Speed for carrying, chests, crates, kegs and skulls is good. This suggestion would imbalance Arena. When playing adventure it’s not as noticeable since most pirate interactions mainly involve combat. Once one party is removed from the equation you grab the loot at your own pace. It’s very rare in adventure to get caught with treasure in your hands when you have to run from another pirate.

    I’d be more for a change with keys for Tall Tales. Carrying a key should not make you jog. For those that have solo’d Shores of Gold know what I’m talking about. Instead for quality of life the key should go into your voyage inventory. On death or disconnect it drops on the ground at your feet.

  • anything held by only one hand should allow for increased movement speed, not like a skull is weighing you down as a chest would
