The Overachiever sails need an overhaul!
Keep in mind somewhere someone put that together based on constraints thier team leader gave them. How would you like someone calling your work “garbage?” Personally, I like them for what they were. A few players screamed and howled when the team decided the commendations were too difficult and lowered the requirements. In response to feedback, Rare offered players a way to show off their more difficult commendation by granting a sail with golden trophies. If you do not care for them, don’t fly them, but I actually like mine and fly them when I’m not disguised as a newbie sloop.
@cpt-parr0t-head gold? I think they look more like orange/bronze. But yes, the over-achiever sails are ugly.

yes but even the whiners got screwed and alot of the ppl who got the lowered amount of 360 got the 1k sails too they just had to do it before the 14th of dec. I think the sails should have a number above the trophies like 360 for the newer ppl who got it and 1k for the original ppl then you could at least tell whos who.
@cpt-parr0t-head They definitely aren't my taste but that's more so because I just don't dig the color scheme. If they were white with a gold trophy & skulls I think I would like it much more.
But I don't think it's a bad looking sail at all if it fits the color scheme of the rest of the ship.

This is a great idea. One set of sails for the initial “over-achiever” proposition of reaching 1k and another set of sails for the revised “not-so over-achiever” proposition of reaching 360.
@cpt-parr0t-head I really don't understand your point. How can three horsemen, spider web or a black widow represent the thing behind the meaning of the sails, that is, completing a pretty hard achievement for some of us. Those kind of sails, like the deckhand, founder, etc. are special sails that are given out to people to reflect their achievements. Please don't post your hate here, and don't be disrespectful on the forums by calling things that and that, can't you say you just don't like it and move on?

As for timing, I waited in order to give these sails a fair shake and as proof of their miserable failure I can say since they were released I have yet to see one ship use them! I've seen hundreds of Pirate Legends and not a single legend has equipped these sails on the seas other than the first few days they had them! My hours are many, my encounters plentiful and my sightings of these sails in use is zip, nil, nadda, not one single set!
These sails should be a "Go to" sail not "afterthought" sails.@Ghostpaw With all due respect you're in the minority by liking these sails.😁
@cpt-parr0t-head I don't quite understand why you'd want a spider web or black widow? The chalice is in keeping with what the sails represent - the completion of achievements (google image "xbox achievement" and you'll understand why it is what it is).
The colour isn't for everyone, but I don't see anything wrong with them. I even unfurl them from time to time when I'm out on a voyage, to get the dust off them at the very least!
@biostructr exactly my point. The sails should be relevant! They should be designed in such a way that people use them! Remember when the founder sails came out? The were weak at best! RARE adjusted the color scheme and viola, the founder sails became a success! The same thing needs to happen here! Fix them! Make them more appealing! No one uses them and those arguing are just lying to themselves or not in the majority. Otherwise these sails would be all over the seas.
I suggest you pop up your own design here so that we can discuss your vision further.

You know very little about me and even less about the world I spend my time in. I have devoted my career to helping veterans who have incurred debilitating injuries. I’ve seen what achievement and pushing through hardship looks like. Excuse me if turning in a few hundred skulls or a sail with a spider doesn’t impress me and that I am not sharing your outrage over what we received.

Well while we're on the general subject of respect, I'd recommend respect for your fellow community members. You have managed to insult or "tell off" most of the people that replied here, which makes me wonder if you really want responses at all?
As to your particular point, I haven't actually seen the sails, so I don't know if/why they're so awful. Thanks for your suggestions regarding new designs, they actually sound really nifty! If Rare keeps reading past all the insults directed towards them in the title and body of your post, perhaps they'll actually see the suggestion and make a change.

If you don't like them, don't use them. That design makes more sense than webs or whatever just for the sake of being edgy.

If you've read any of my posts (also Bern Dimall & Bern Dimaii) over the years you'll know I'm entrenched in this game and community and a staunch supporter of RARE and Sea of Thieves.
Sometimes we need to use "Shock marketing" to bring peoples attention to an injustice. So please don't spread the dislike of the sails to a dislike towards any other facet of RARE other than the people giving us such a shoddy product for being the cornerstones of the Sea of Thieves gaming community.

I like your general idea of different sail types... after all who wouldn't!!!The design as has been seen in previous sail releases does tend to reflect the achievement or event that has taken place.
Could there have been other designs for these?, no doubt. It is a matter of taste... I guess.. whether something is to your eye or not.Personally I wouldn't want them to change sail designs.... I just want them to have more sail designs.

Bad luck if you dont like it, i dislike Legends and Athena stuff mostly.

I use them since they were out and they make for a pretty awesome combo with certain ship hulls, cannons, helm, capstan and figurehead. At least next time you'll see these on the seas you'll know its me.

No, they are designed to represent someone's achievement, so if I become a Deckhand, I get the Deckhand sails and use them in game, If I want, to let others know that I'm a deckhand on the forums. That's it. They are not meant to be pretty so they can be used by everyone!
You can always have them and not use them at all, if you like, say for example, The Wilds sails more. If you really want Rare to "adjust" the design then raise a support ticket. Tell them you don't see them often on the seas and need to be changed.Actually the chalice symbol has quite some significance according to the lore of the game in Tales from the Sea of Thieves.
