The Arena is coming and Rare have stated it is a seperate Game Mode. When you load up Sea of Thieves you will be able to choose the current "Adventure Mode" or the new "Arena Mode". If you choose "Arena Mode" you will be taken to the social hub Inn and match made. Arena Mode and Adventure Mode will be seperate.
However I think the game would benefit if it was possible to enter Arena mode from Adventure mode (and vice-versa) as well as from a menu option. For example you should be able to be playing Adventure Mode with your crew, do some adventuring, then sail as a crew to the Sea Dogs Tavern and then enter and join the other mode with your crew. Then do some Arena games and then choose to exit the Tavern and as a crew be taken back into Adventure mode. This would be much more immersive and feel like the Adventure and Arena modes were much more integrated and linked.
Okay, there may be long waits when switching modes, whilst its loads and you are matchmade but there will be anyway if you have to quit the mode you are playing, return to the Sea of Thieves menu, form your crew and then enter the Arena Mode.
Even if it is just smoke and mirrors so you don't feel like you are leaving the game and your crew and having to select a menu option would be much more immersive. I also think I will increase the number of players who will play both modes as it will feel like one games session and not stopping and startnig new ones to play each mode.

but there is no reason to be put in to adventure mode, if you wanna do Arena an vice-versa.
To build on yours, should you be able to jump from on mode to another with some "enemy" pirates you have meet from one mode, an merge up in the other.@greencamillion1

Nah fam I’ve watched all the videos about it and all that I’m 99% sure they’re gonna be in the same general mode just the arena is going to be in a certain place@lem0n-curry
Depends where you can join the Arena. If you have to sail to the Tavern it wouldn’t be a quick escape. Or there’s a note on the Sea Dog Tavern door that states that all treasure being carried will be lost.I think that ship has sailed. To be honest I quite like the idea of the Arena mode but wish it was more integrated with the Adventure Mode

Also who is to say that some form of Bounty mode won’t surface sometime in the future...
