Xbox app not working?

    Hello folks, me and a friend started a game ... suddenly the wind disappeared. I closed the game, opened the Xbox app, and now my friends list wont work.

    my friend, still in game, says his friends list wont work either.

    And all of sudden, reddit posts (that the SoT mods keep deleting) are saying the same thing.

    Does anybody have a solution to this problem?

    Reading a fair few reports now of players having issues with Xbox Live, likely due to temporarily increased traffic but the status page does suggest an issue which is now resolving with core services -

    Yes. We have had issues all night. I have not been able to get on with my crew. They have been kicked out of the game also at times.

    They had weird bugs also where their ship would not move despite sails down and Anchor up

    @musicmee I'm logged in on my 360 ok, can you play on your X1? Whole of live issue or just pc side I wonder

    Seems to be a bit wonky tonight...

    @strinder well yeah the apps gone down again but xbox live is up so I'm in the game

    The Looking for Group feature on the Xbox One also doesn't seem to be working.
    What exactly is going on?

    @megagamer96 They are working to resolve the issues as we speak, this is a global issue affecting all of Microsoft's core Xbox Live services.

    Should be up and working soon, hopefully.

    Ok, managed to log into the app but the game doesn't recognize it because of course it doesn't.

    Classic Xbox Live. Every months falls at least one time.

    Quite painful considering that they sell subscription services.

    @guepard4 I just feel sorry for Rare, from what I did get to play of the update it was a lot of fun. Horrible for an issue like this to negatively impact on the launch of Forsaken Shores.

    Then again, even if maybe it's not Rare's fault this time, it still remains true that the best way to avoid disappointment is to never ever play on patch day.

    Still haven't been able to sign in. It looks like I won't be able to even glimpse Forsaken Shores today. Count me majorly bummed.

    It really kills me that, once again, Microsoft screwed over Sea of Thieves in some way. Can they not keep their servers properly maintained?
