Communicating with Alliance Members at Distance Suggestion

  • Run into a skellie ship you can't seem to down and need help from Alliance members that are too far away? A carrier pigeon cage can be implemented onto the ships. You select the cage, type your message, select the ship you want to send it to and bam! The ship receives a pigeon that coos when a message is available.

I'm a little surprised at how much I like this suggestion.

  • It's an impressive suggestion! And not too difficult.... I think it's a brilliant idea.

  • In the current situation, the solution on xbone is adding at least one from the other crew to your party chat I guess.

  • This is to provide a blanket solution to everyone who plays. Keeping the need to incorporate a random player into party chat (potentially separating them from chatting with their crew) and allow PC and Xbox players to send messages to each other in game without having to friend or, in the PC case, alt-tab out of the game to go to the Xbox App to check messages. (Alt-tabbing STILL results in a disconnect from servers, so that's out of the question.)

  • This is a really nice idea. I like it

  • Whoops. I goofed on my sentence there. I meant "Getting rid of the need to".

  • @rigma

I think this really fits in well, either a carrier pigeon, parrot, seagull - any of those - it'd be amazing to see it land on your ship bearing a message!

  • Brilliant Idea @Rigma!
I would love to see this implemented and it will definitely make it easier to arrange for your whole alliance to meet.
As with everything in the SoT skins would be an easy option too; parrots, seagulls, etc.
I personally would like one of the bats you see flying around the wilds.
However I'm not sure how this would work if I had the bat equipped and another ship had a parrot or something. Would they get my bat show up? I truly hope so.

Something for the teams to think about at least.
