Controller Mapping: Binding an Alternate Weapon Cycle Button

  • As an Elite Controller user, I wish I had the ability to bind an alternate weapon cycle button. I like using the Y button as a primary weapon cycle key, but I'd be nice if I could bind one of my paddles to it as well. This is something that I can do with the jump button (A button + Paddle), and I wish I could do it with weapon cycle as well.

  • @williamherschel Really they should give players full controller mapping control. Let people do what they want with it IMO.

    Are you wanting to have 2 different buttons to switch weapons specifically? Y for primary, X for secondary for example?
    I have an elite controller as well, although I only use 2 paddles as my finger dexterity isn't that great. One paddle for X, One for Up (makes using the chat options faster while actually using the item). I then swap to the second preset for Jump and weapon switch if combat is imminent.

    With all of the other options/menus in the game, we're going to run out of buttons to use.

    I like mapping important actions to two buttons in this game as I swap between more relaxed, and combat heavy play styles. For example, with the jump button in SoT I primarily use the default A, but as a longtime Halo player I recognize that bumper jumper is the way to go in combat heavy situations thus I also have jump mapped to top left paddle.

    I'd like to do the same thing with weapon cycle, and have it mapped to both Y (which I find more intuitive for most situations) and right paddle for quick combat switches. I don't think that there is currently anyway to do this, as it forces you to decide between one or the other.

  • Soo i am thinking about getting an elite controller can you map the paddles for your wheel options i.e. Bananas, compass, spyglass, lantern, bucket, etc Depending on the voyage having each of these hotkeyed would be awesome!
