@tussockycord163 They are not making changes which will prevent a quick death. No matter how much "content" they add there is still no reason to play because there are no rewards. Making your own fun with friends is nice when between challenges. Not as a standalone draw to a game.
The rewards are cosmetic. You earn gold that you use to buy more challenging voyages, and in turn those reward you with even more gold that you use to buy hats, coats, shiny new swords, pistols, and bling for your ship. You don't need to get a skill point each time you rank up that you can spend improving your damage or the speed that you raise the anchor. That's not how the game was designed. It was designed for feats of raw skill, and the occasional feat of pure dumb luck, to dominate, not whoever put in the most hours to get the maximum damage stat.
In addition to that, we're not two months into release and we're already getting our first major content update. With the next two going to be even larger; the last named one in the roadmap will add a completely new biome to the game. Saying they're not adding content quick enough is very presumptuous, considering they've also added new mechanics, cosmetics, and player-requested changes on the fly in their patches.
And @ItsPorkchopFu While that might have been part of the game in the concepting phase, it's not the game that was developed, and not the game the community wants Sea of Thieves to turn into. The majority opinion is the same.
