Game is literally unplayable now... I give up.

    I don't know if it's just me but I can't finish a single legendary voyage anymore.

    I lost the last 4 legendary voyages I did due to the game not working. I lost the first voyage with 2 quests left because the server crashed (almondbeard I believe). I lost the second voyage because on the last quest skeletons didn't spawn on Plunder Valley (the eternal bug). I lost the third one earlier today when the server announced it's going to shut down while not being on maintenance (game worked fine after the server kicked us). It only gave us 10 minute warning and we were literally digging up the last chest before the final chapter when we got the warning. And now after the patch i go in with my friends again, fill the ship with supplies, halfway through the quest server crashes (almondbeard again).

    So in the last 2 days i wasted 10 hours of my life with not a single thing to show for it. 2 of my crewmates deleted the game after this happened for the 4th consecutive time. So is anyone else experiencing this or is it just us? Honestly I am just about done with this game.

    The developers don't seem to have a single idea what they are doing. They can't even get a small patch with some bug fixes out. The today's patch was intended for last week but they had issues so they delayed it to not cause problems, and they release it a week later and not to my surprise... The feature they added doesn't work so had to be removed and the server crashes on my first game in... Just make Sea of Thieves a single player game or sell it to a decent company...

    So is it just me or is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

    @abysswalkerpts Well, if you look at the other forum posts you'll see a lot of people raising the same issue so I'm going to go ahead and make the assumption that you're not the only one.

    Patience is a virtue friend. It is being worked on that's how patches work. You mess with the code it will mess with you. They are aware and working on a fix, Best thing to do is just have fun and now worry about the voyages for now until it's fixed.

    @ve111a Thank God I'm in the U.S. and don't get off work until well after patches are normally over :D

    Hoping this gets resolved before I get home though lol.

    @ve111a I'll admit i am not a patient person but I did the best I could my friend. This is a company that charged me $60 for a game with no content, then promised an expansion early may to try and keep some people in, 1 week into may they try to release a patch that adds a simple feature in the game and they get issues so they postpone it for next week, next week (today) they release the patch but the game goes crazy so they remove it AGAIN while the base game becomes more and more unplayable.

    So forgive me if i give up on a game that promises some content and they can't even keep their servers up or add a simple feature. Like... I honestly don't even want the expansion anymore. I am afraid of all the new bugs its going to bring that will take them years to fix. Just keep the game as is, try to fix it and make it a sandbox and be happy about the money they got so far.

    Unless they are paying some serious overtime, i'm not holding out hope for a resolution in the next 12 hours.
    It's 9.42pm here in the UK, so Rare will most likely have closed the doors to the office for the evening unless it is crunch time for THD or they are busting a gut to fix the servers.

    I'm heading to bed after finishing a bit of work, will see what the morning brings.

    @sshteeve Well, I'll be honest, I have no idea how things work in the gaming industry.

    I'm a softwaste developer in the investment industry and when our stuff breaks in our production environment we issue a critical situation and your butt is online until it's fixed.

    Not sure if it's the same for games.

    @xcalypt0x I would hope it's exactly the same in the gaming industry! Software development is software development and I would assume that they are working under a RAD or Agile SDLC method.

    I have couple of mates from my degree programming for Yager, but they are pretty tight lipped!

    Me parece increible despues de lo rancio que es el juego en cuanto a contenido, que con una actualizacion seais capaces de romperlo, es imposible jugarlo, todo el rato me echa del juego, y la linea va bien, no es problema de puertos y aque tengo el DMZ activado, asi que es problema de la actualizacion que habeis puesto hoy, menuda tela...

    Your post makes it sound like this game is no different from taxes. You see taxation is theft because they steal your money without consent, and then spend it frivolously. This game you chose to buy you had options. I did a great deal of research into this game before I purchased it, and I am excited for the upcoming content, and I thoroughly enjoy the game.

    I will admit I might get a little bored of this game once I reach Pirate legend which I am extremely close to doing!

    I was hoping Hungering Deep would hit before I reach legend, but I will probably get there before next week so stealing other peoples loots wont be as rewarding once I hit legend!

    Yes, i give up for the night now also. Even though i didn't get disconnected this time, the juddering lag issue remains, and trying to battle a 2 man sloop whilst solo was a bit challenging when every time i tried to use adjust my sail i would fall into the sea!

    I'm forced to quit until this is resolved too. Only have legendary voyages to do and we just lost our second one today. We've achieved close to nothing in the last 5 hours.

    @holezinya I understand what you are saying and now we are going back to the release day issues. I played all the betas and alpha and I just couldn't wait for the full game as they said they are keeping most things for release. That was definitely misleading since the release has nothing more than the beta except maybe the kraken...

    Also getting to legend is way more disappointing than you think. It's basically another outpost and the only think that changes is that you can now purchase a mix of the quests you've been doing forever OVER AND OVER and if you are lucky enough to finish them (that is if you don't crash, server doesn't shut down or quests are not bugged) you get a chest at the end that lets you grind another thing for ages to only unlock a set of clothes...

    I can't even finish one map, let alone a voyage. Generally, the game has been very stable for me but I've been kicked four times already today. Gotta stop wasting my time until they patch this.

    @abysswalkerpts For the first time in my life I feel ripped off for paying a full price for a game that is still in it's Alpha development stage. Weird is the amount of people here saying we must be patient and also congratulating Rare for fixing the bugs. All of these s*** is nonsense. I feel like an idiot.

    Sick of defending this game I'm almost embarrassed for rare the bug of handing items crashed the server didn't bother me and I defended it sure it was just a nice idea but the games just not working...

    I created a party on xbox we joined the new locked party launched straights to almombeard so tested again and same thing so went to old party gathered there worked straight away. We all did order of souls while doing it my game froze and same for another guy (xbox x) then while doing quest the skeletons never spawned for 2nd wave so we had to gather in fod to get them to reset... continue on to about 1h30min and we are on our way to hand in about 18 skulls 7-8 to villainous skull and then the server crashed....

    That's life my dude, I noticed a bit of excessive lag and my wind lines weren't showing until I died after the patch but no crashes

    @abysswalkerpts Don't fret bro! I have no doubts the "Hungering Deep" update will fix everything! The game will magically become what we thought it was supposed to be and bug free too....all of this without a test server! Every patch the game breaks...Bring back the Pioneer test group already!

    No offense, but I fail to understand your approach.

    SOT is a premium game from a premium studio.

    It's been nearly two months since launch.

    These type of server issues are difficult to excuse.
