  • Here is an idea I dont think I have came across on here.

    What about adding the feature that Skeletons at complete random drop a little bag of gold coins to reward players?

    The reason I suggest this is yes with the Skeleton Captains they offer a Cursed Skull where you can cash in for coins. Also what would be a nice feature is due to random skeletons sprouting from the groud at random when your hunting for Chests, Animals Etc it would be nice to get a little reward for cutting them down. Say like bags with random amounts from like 10g - 100g.

    I'm not suggesting all Skeletons drop coin bags but for them to drop at complete random would make cutting down the skeles that little bit more enjoyable and worthwhile.

    Thoughts?

  • good idea as I have completed may voyage and left skellies on the beach as just wanted to get on to next voyage

  • I like this idea, as it would give me an incentive to stop and fight skeletons rather than just running past them.

  • @phillyreid I like this idea. Maybe also give skellies a chance of dropping one or two rounds of ammo so pve encounters can flow a little better without having to break away from the fight all the time to replen.

    Yes I totally agree with that. Skeles dropping the odd bit of ammo is a great idea. Me personally I love going hand to hand with them haha

  • Coin + ammo drops sound really awesome. I hope Devs will think about them for future updates.

  • @phillyreid I mostly use my sword, but sometimes you need to do some fancy shootin'. Ammo crates on islands are handy, but I still feel that fighting skellie crews lacks a certain flow when you have to keep running off all the time.

  • I think a chance of getting ammo and maybe some bananas could be an cool idea.

    But I think getting money from them would weaken the whole "protect the treasure and get it to the outpost" feeling. Maybe they could drop some relic coins that you would have to bring to an outpost or something.

    Would be cool to get resources related to what you are killing, maybe like bones or something from the skeletons and then you can use the bones to make something to style of with or craft something like bone balls wich you can shoot out of the canon.

    Perhaps they could also drop items: Bananas, Cannonballs and planks.

  • They are pointless, I run round them if I don't need to actually fight them to do what I am doing.

    Even if they dropped ammo or something, would be good.

  • I posted this elsewhere, but I'd love it if the bananas they "eat" fell to the ground afterwards since skeletons have no innards.

  • Im thinking maybe there could be rare skellies spawning with a spear as a weapon and if you killed them they drop it... a spear is basicly a treasure that you can carry and sell at the merchants for 50g but you also can throw it like an actual spear weapon to make huge damage on hit perfect for fighting kraken other players or strong skelly captians.... the spear has a 40% chance to shattee but can otherwise be picked up again to be thrown again?

  • @genereder I like this concept but I wont be surprised if we seen spear/harpoon like weapons added in either the upcoming hungering deep or in future content drops.

  • Yes, I also think that there should be a really small chance (like 5 or 10%) they drop their skull or maybe a bone to sell to the order of souls, right now it's frustrating when they spawn because they are just a waste of time, especially when you are on a legendary mission, they have more health and they are stronger and yet they don't reward you for killing them

  • @brio-brumm Although I am not yet a Pirate Legend I have heard rumblings of this.

    I understand the Skeles are there to add a bit more of a challenge but why take on a challenge if there is no reward at the end of it. If Skeles have the ability to steal your chest/skull then there is a debate there but right now Skeles pose no threat atm if they kill you or not

  • @phillyreid Oh I am not a pirate legend either, sometimes I'm lucky and I join a crew in which a pirate legend dropped his voyage, it's very nice of them and it's way more common than you would think to find it.

    Btw I think that also killing a shark should reward you in some way, and don't get me started on the kraken lol

  • @brio-brumm Yeh Sharks are both a pain in the rear end but can also prove to be a god send. The Kraken is a WIP. Devs confirmed it a while back

    Did they seriously tell it? Was it on a podcast?

  • @brio-brumm Yes I cant remember what one exactly but they did say the Kraken is still a WIP and that in the future they want to implement rewards for defeating the kraken

  • I find this to be a fantastic idea, especially considering the sheet difficulty of some of the skeletons. For example, their God-level accuracy that was nerfed, but is now still demi-god level, or the fact that you may skeleton missions with four or five leafy bosses, and several wave of leafy skeletons on a little island with water on all sides, and in the full middle, like Mutineer.

    That's reassuring, I don't watch the podcasts because they are too long and when I try to watch one of them they seem to talk always about something they have already said in the past or something useless. But apparently in the middle of those 50 minutes they actually say something interesting lol

  • Another idea popped in my mind regarding the golden skeletons, I don't know if someone else proposed it but it would be could cool if they dropped a golden trinket or a relique rarely (again a 5 or 10% possibility)
    I mean, they are covered in golden treasures and when you kill them you get nothing, it's disappointing.

    Also it would be easier to level up and the game would seem less grindy

    on the contrary, i think they should give them a finite amount of bullets, 5 like us, and maybe add a dodging mechanic because no matter how fast you run or if you jump like a mad rabbit, they will always get you

  • Well you never know. Would just be nice that Skeles you come across randomly have a rare chance to drop some coins
