As a gamer, I have always loved delving into the Lore that makes up a game's setting. Knowing more about the game world gives a player greater appreciation for it, and also gives you a small sense of immersion. The more extensive the Lore the bigger the world feels, even if the game world the Player gets to explore is rather small. This has become such a solid part of most games today that to not introduce any in-game Lore is hard to find.
Not so for Sea of Thieves. This game, sadly, has almost NO way of getting to know the Lore better unless you feel like shelling out extra money for the physical Lore book. Which, while pretty cool looking, seems like just another way to get a player's money. The only other ways are by talking to the various Factions or shop owners to get a couple short blurbs about tiny things, but most of the time it's just idle banter and does nothing to convey the world.
Sometimes you'll come across a rare Journal, which will give you a tiny slice of Lore and a small quest. But again, that's pretty much it when it comes to Lore. You learn nothing about the world, the islands (former?) inhabitants, the Merfolk, why the Factions are even there, what the Sea Of Thieves even IS, just nothing all around.
Why is this Rare? Why have you kept this from Players? You could base an entire FACTION around obtaining the Lore of the Sea Of Thieves (which, BTW, would make Exploration FAR more of a thing than it currently is) and the stories alone would enrich the game just that bit more. Please, give us players a way to get to know our game's World Lore better so that we can appreciate it more than the smattering of sentences we currently have.
