Why is there a Stronghold skull, Stronghold chest but no stronghold merchant equivalent? just seem unfair to those trying to level Merchant. I'm lucky if i get spices out of the treasure room.

Yea I thought the same things, granted tho I've done 2 merchant missions in the game and already have 25 in merchant alliance from the loot from ships and the forts. Spices are nothing to sneeze at and the black crate I have only seen really at a skull fort.
@ve111a i hear ya, id just like a big ticket xp item similar to the skull and chest i'm up at lv40 and the only thing that moves the bar anymore is spices and gold animals. wouldn't mind some incentive for us merchants to do the fort as well, at the moment it just makes more sense to ignore the fort and farm gold chickens lol
@sanssariph i know the feel ive gotten x3 sugar x1 tea before, but on the other hand i have been blessed with x3 spice x2 tea
That would be awesome! some sort of guaranteed reward for merchant alliance just like the skull and chest.

I jsut want my red coat lol. It's a long process.
@straw-hat-blake I have tried on occasion but usually about 20 mins in the skull appears in the sky and everyone gets distracted... lol

@sanssariph It's a fort of undead pirates right? 'Crate of Ancient (Item Name Here)' and have it be 1-3k like the other fortress stuff.

2 methods:double outpost cheese:
Glitch cheese (hard to get right:
For both methods get a 4man galley crew and have each member cycle 6-9 voyages each, Collecting cages as you cycle. (after the first 3 a player can leave group then rejoin for 3 more).
Once you got 50-100 chicken crates. You fill them, Crooks Hollow/Crooked Masts/Mermaids Hideaway/Cannon Cove. Only catch gold chickens. Once you catch all the golds on the island. Have the crew all suicide. Once all dead when u respawn new chickens will have spawned in. (we used snakes since we had the spare cages to instadie instead of using the crows nest). Once they're filled You can do either method i mentioned above.
method 1. If you accept voyages from for example. Plunder Outpost it will always give ancient spire outpost. So with your filled cages, you go to ancient spire outpost and unload all of them. either on the dock or hide them in like the clothing vendor hut. You will leave 1 player there for turn ins, and the other 3 will head back to plunder outpost. Simply cycle voyages while at plunder and when a golden chicken pops up the person u left at ancient turns it in.
method 2. A bit wierd to get right. After you've done a full loop of standard voyages around the map the next voyage you recieve will always give u the same outpost, no matter where u are on the map. I.E. Galleons grave. So with your ship full of chickens u park your boat and galleons grave and spam cycle voyages since it doesn't matter where u do it from it'll always be the same outpost.
WARNING: For both methods listed, you must NEVER complete the voyage. If its 7 golden chickens, you only turn in 6 and cancel the voyage for a new one.

@xmcgi11x I am sure that they will add more to Merchant Alliance in the next content expansion that will help you level up the rep with them.
But i Totally agree that there should be and eqvilant to Stronghold chest and skull for the Merchants!
I did find because of our skull ford raids my merchant rep was slowly starting to fall behind the rest. while the other reps crawled up into the twenties, the merchant rep lagged behind in the teens. Partly due to the major rep increase from the fort skulls and chests.
I too want some sort of EPIC chicken in the fort!
I must start by confessing, I have not yet tackled a Skeleton Stronghold Fort.
Although from my following of various updates and notifications from other users, I see your point.
Maybe their answer is - on Skeleton Forts there are numerous Gunpowder Barrels
But this is useless if you use them in combat...
So you make a great point.
