What to do? Random in game threw away chest of legends

  • We had this amazing journey we went online confident 3 man in a 4 man galleon. started our 6th legends journey and we got in a random who did not speak, type or anything. However he did help and react on what we said.

After a few of the voyages our 4th member of the crew logged on and joined us on discord, we asked him nicely to leave ingame, the french guy now got all wierd did nothing onto the ship. Nothing to do the voyage, we heard him speak with a mate behind him, Naming me as pirate legend and more.

When we finally finished and wanted to just cash in he was all gone for a few minutes, we brigged him before reaching the outpost, so he didnt f**k anything up but gone was the chest of legends. now we have spent 1 hour going over our steps and following him around to see if we could find it. Nowhere to be found. hes still ingame and laughing at times.

  • @klieren Chest of Legends?

  • @touchdown1504 the final reward from legendary voyage (athene's rep)

  • @klieren maybe DM him and see if he comes clean. Other than that scour the seas or quit, whichever you feel is worth your time.

  • probabbly dumped it off the side of the boat, forget it its gone you got griefed

  • The guy/girl helped you and when someone logged on you wanted to play with, you asked him to leave and when you didn't get what you wanted, you brigged him. I'd say Karma, but I think that would be too easy.

  • @kashaarafall we turned everything in and he got the reward for all hes work. so i would far from call it karma dude. bad style there. it is not like we ditched him and we told him early we was awaiting the 4th for which he just said aye.

  • @klieren You asked him to leave, he didn't, you brigged him, you lost a chest. Two negatives don't make a positive, but one was more impactful than the other. So yeah, it's karma. He didn't get anything, neither did you, but it didn't bother him as much as it did you.

  • @klieren hey there. I am really sorry to hear this. My only advice is simply: don’t play with randoms. I never do. I either play alone or with my tight knit crew (son & broer) that’s it.

    Again, sorry : (

  • @klieren umm so you asked the guy to leave when you had a bunch of chests on your ship and he helped you with them. How did you think this was going to pan out lol.

Sorry but you deserved what you got.

  • Congrats on making Legend. 15/15/22 so still a way to go for me.

As long as your asking someone to leave after the loot has been handed in I don’t see they have claim to be upset........

  • @mad-jim-rogers we did turn in first before asking him to leave. we had no value. only quests.

  • @klieren to me sounds more like you didnt want to share the rep for athena and rather wanted it to give to one of your afking friends for no work.

    situation suits you perfectly imo.

  • @klieren Next time I would leave and start a new crew with the friend so you don't have to deal with any of that. Just cash in and thank the guy for his help then say goodbye.

  • invite only ships is going to solve this.
just forget about it, it shouldn't be a problem in the future.

  • The reason why some say you had it coming is the way you articulated your experience in the thread. If you gave the 4th member their fair share of the help they provided and then afterwards asked them to leave so your friend could join, then there is no issue.

  • @kashaarafall said in What to do? Random in game threw away chest of legends:

I would agree. Pretty rotten of you to waste that guy's time and hard work just to give your friend a free ride.
I did this once when i helped a group, they brigged me and started throwing up on me after like 8 voyages. Then one of them messages me saying "pls leave" and i replied with "naww, I'm good"

Maybe if they just messaged me then i would have because i have been in their situation before but not after throwing up on me in the brig. Thanks for the free loot random group! ;]

  • @klieren Next time try to say that you will sell everything you got before your friend come so the random get rewarded for what he helped with. Anyway private crews will solve the problem, we desperately need them in my opinion. To avoid this situations we start as a 3 man crew and when the fourth come online we will make a new game

  • The best solution is to tell him you have a fourth joining and ask him to leave after turning in what you have so far. For me this has worked 100% of the time with no difficulty. And even if he does refuse to leave then you can just tell him your honest opinion of his behaviour and start a new game.

  • Hey this is a pirates game right! You got pirated xD

  • Lol. Griefed in a griefer game. Go figure. if you don't like it go play candy crush.

  • Yep. Treat people badly and you deserve to be griefed in return. No sympathy here.

  • @klieren said in What to do? Random in game threw away chest of legends:

You should have asked him to leave after you went to the outpost to cash in, he probably didnt realise you were on your way to the outpost to cash in what you already had. Just learn from it and move on

  • Dude you obviously didn't turn everything in if you had that legendary chest. O.o

  • So let me guess what happened you got a 4th random he helped you do the voyages after which u asked him to leave and he started griefing ? We ofc he will he did help you and you want him to leave and not get any reward ? Also why don't u do a 3 person gallion of u hate randoms so much ? I don't buy that we sold everything and asked him to leave i am a 100% sure u hid some of the loot if not all of it and made some lame a*s excuse. Nobody will waste time griefing you for no reason.

  • I would have greifed you also.

He helped you with voyages then you asked him to leave? Lol what a ****

  • you both did something wrong either way. no excuse from either you/your crew or the griefer should justify either of your actions.

for one thing, even when asked nicely, you should not have ask a person to leave at all without any justified reason. while some people appreciate anything that does not involve an insta-brig, some still hate being asked to leave. here are unjustified reasons to ask a person to leave (for future reference to you and others):

    • you want a fourth buddy to join: your buddy should have had a better schedule or they should have logged in sooner. if friendship is so important, leave the server and rejoin with your friend.
    • you want to play as a 3 person crew: until Rare creates a three person ship, a crew bond is sacred, and thus you must accept anyone who joins. a fourth crew member can only provide benefits when working cooperatively.
    • the new crew member is a new player: keep to the code and guide new players. teach them or they will be someone else's problem.
    • you feel as if they dont deserve your earned loot: the harsh truth is that no one cares, nor should care about whether or not you think a crew member deserves your loot. your entire crew will receive the same reward in the end.

the griefer should simply not have done what he did, but he wont be punished now even if you report him because of my first point; you asked him to leave first when you should not have. if you were so confident that he was a griefer in the beginning, than you should have waited until he took action. that away, the griefer would not have absolutely any excuse for his/her actions and most likely be punished. even one excuse from the griefer can give them a pass. for example, the other side of the story from the griefers perspective: "well, yeah. i did that, but they rudely told me to leave!" just as believable as your story with one action and one excuse for doing said action.

im sorry if im being too harsh, but this is one of the major reason why some griefers get a free pass: because both sides have done actions that are wrong, but both sides have excuses for doing those actions.

  • @klieren let me get this straight...one of your crew got to pirate legend but doesn’t understand the dangers of playing with randoms?

    Hahahahaha

You tell a guy to leave when you got a chest of legends and don’t expect him to get shady on you?

    Hahahahahaha

You proceed to complain on the forums about him despite you not watching the loot?

    Hahahahaha

In all seriousness that sucks but that’s what you get for trying to cut a pirate out of his share and getting your buddy in instead.🍺

  • @elite-assasin87 Man understand the things.. i typed that we did some parts of the mission and turned everything in! before asking him to leave nicely. afterwards we jailed him and in the end decided to let him out as he atleast could help. but ended up after we did the rest of it trying to grief us

  • @klieren if you turned everything in then how did he throw away a chest of legends?

  • @elite-assasin87 Read again dude for real? we turned in halfway through with the quest! asked him to leave. but seeing as that he didnt leave we might aswell finish it with him then leave and play with our friend. That is how he ended up griefing with the chest of legends.

  • @klieren Don’t for real me, you want to tell me that your crew is supposedly pirate legends but you don’t consider telling someone to leave halfway through a voyage to be rude? If you wanted your buddy in then quit and start a new session. Brigging someone for no reason and then letting them out and expecting them to cooperate with you is borderline insanity.

“Please leave halfway through a good voyage we want our buddy not you. Oh no? Brigged. Now imma let you out so behave for doing nothing wrong. Oh what, you wasted my time by throwing away the chest, how unwarranted!” Lul

  • I think you started a legendary voyage knowing you had a random crewmate. It's only fair to complete it and if you're actually legend yourself you can just buy another.

Sounds like all that was left to do was turn in the legends chest. But you wanted to force him out of the group after doing all the legwork with you so your buddy could get the XP.

I don't agree with him chucking it overboard but I don't agree with you forcing him from the party before turnin either. That's just not cool.

  • @kashaarafall Asking someone to leave is a negative? No, it's a gamer's right to control their team.
