Had an idea come to me that I really wanted to share. So Rare are possibly making pets for our pirates, I imagine that a parrot on your shoulder would be the ultimate pet to have. What if they went all in and gave it some character, here's my idea:
Voice recognition has come a long way in recent years and I think this system might not be too hard to implement. Basically your parrot listens out for certain lines, things that a SoT player might say quite a bit over comms, stuff like "angle the sails" "drop the anchor" "north west" "open fire" "starboard side" "Crow's nest" and then repeats them back twice quickly in a typical squarky parrot voice (pre recorded lines) I'll try and include and example below. This feature could absolutely be toggled on or off by anyone and volume level adjusted for least annoyance as I imagine it would be hilarious at first but maybe not so much after many hours of hearing it.
The parrot could also have song lyrics to sing in synch to when players are playing musical instruments, or just simply whistle along in tune.
One other thing but this might be a little OP, the parrot could call out ships or wrecks on the horizon, to make this a little less OP he would not give a direction or say what he's seen, just simply say "something on the horizon" and only do it occasionally, like give it a cool down so it only happens once every hour.
What do you guys think? Any other cool things that pets might do apart from stand near you looking cute.
