Why is My Ship Filling With Water?

  • Hi.

My ship is safely moored alongside at a port. There are no holes in the ship at all, but slowly my ship's lower store room is filling with water.

    Why is this happening?

    Thanks.

  • Is it raining?

  • Are you near a storm? Sometimes that fills it even though you cannot see the rain. Also, that hole under the window with the shelf is an easy one to miss.

  • Hi. Thanks for the replies. Yes, it is raining and stormy. :-)

  • How do I get rid of all this water? It's now completely flooded my storeroom and is almost reaching the captain's cabin. Sure;y we don't lose our ships due to rainwater? Do we?

  • @myrm use your bucket mate and get out of the storm! Good luck!

Thankfully you have a one gallon bucket in your inventory, with space age technology that compresses the water molecules together, so it can actually hold about 1,000 gallons of water in a single scoop.

Yes, I noticed the magical TARDIS volume properties of the bucket. Not complaining though, it would be most tedious if the bucket only took bucket volumes of water at a time.

  • if it ain't a hole, it's a storm or a crying treasure chest.

  • I remember in a beta my buddy and I were soooo excited to sail through a storm for the first time, we were so excited to be in the storm on the high seas that we failed to notice the rain filling the hull and it was far too late

People would assume this game was one giant troll attempt, if you literally had to bail out water by bucket, at a "realistic" rate, haha.

  • So I have no chests or items in my ship. I did sustain heavy damage with lots of patches. I drain all the water, my ship still fills up. I have a consistent layer of water that doesn't get worse but always comes back if I drain it. I sailed around for awhile like this. Is this because of all the damage?
