Buying Sea of Thieves via Microsoft Store

  • Hello pirates! For a few days I was wondering if I can buy this game for PC in a physical form. I'm not gonna lie, that when I found out that I can't I was very dissapointed, but what can I do? Nevermind, becouse the reason why I'm making this post is different. I have.. Maybe a stupid question, but I need to be 100% certain, if I'm going to pay 60 Euros for this game.

I was wondering how can I get this game, becouse I don't have a credit card, and then I realised that there are XBOX Live prepaid cards in my local RTV shop. So.. I have a few questions for you guys, and I'll really aprecciate if you can give me answers for them.

    1. Becouse there are these Microsoft Xbox Live prepaids, and Microsoft Windows prepaids I became a little bit confused.. Both are saying "Buy games, movies, TV, music, apps, and more on Xbox and Windows" So why there two types of these cards, if there is no diffrence beetwen them? Well.. there are some diffrences, becouse one is green and has xbox logo on it, while the second is blue and has windows logo on it. Or maybe there is a diffrence, and if I'll buy Xbox Live prepaid cards, I won't be able to use them in Microsoft Store? Please tell me guys. xD
    2. If I don't have a credit card - I can buy, and top up my account by several pre-paid cards (eg. 20, 20, 20), and buy Sea Of Thieves via Microsoft Store, and play on PC, yes?

I know that these questions may be very stupid, but I always want to be 100% sure. xD
Sorry for my poor english if there are any gramar mistakes.

  • You cannot buy SoT as a physical form on the store but you can other players.

If you want to buy Sea of Thieves without using a credit/debit card, you go to your local game store and buy xbox gift cards which amount up to the cost of Sea of Thieves, you then redeem them online and buy it with the credit you have on your account.

    Hope this helped.

So.. I can use Xbox Live gift cards and use them on Microsoft Store, yes? Becouse I was a little bit confused with this Microsoft Windows gift cards, and I thought that there are special cards for PC and Console. xD Anyways, thank you for replying.

  • Those two cards are actually the same. just have different logo
Because there is only one Microsoft store.

Different logos because the xbox logo one can be more recognised in the game shop by the owner who have xbox.

  • @xanox-bluebeard Microsoft and Xbox cards. I myself got the xbox cards as I was like you. I didn't really understand which was which. So I thought to myself, to be safe, i'll get the xbox cards.

  • @xanox-bluebeard There shouldn't be any difference, other than cosmetic, between the pre-paid cards you're seeing. Both can be redeemed on your MS Account, at which point you can use the funds then in your wallet to purchase SoT.

If memory serves, as it's been a while since I had any in my hand, have a look at the back of the cards and you'll see the redemption instructions. Should be the same.

  • Okay guys. I guess that's all I wanted to know! I very appreciate all your replies, becouse now I'm 100% certain. Thank you once again. :D
