srry if this has been asked before. but i want to know what SOT will have to stop little kids from cheating in this game. last think i want is for SOT to turn into APB:Reloaded and GTA Online.

It's a pirate game and cheating others is a big part of being a pirate.
It needs to be restricted to official game mechanics, though - not external software assistance.

anytime you have a cross over platform where Console & PC both have access. The PC players are gonna load up on addons & mods to gain any advantage they can. It's the nature of the beast, unless the Devs have made it impossible to use 3rd party addons & mods.
I am starting to wonder if you, console players, live in a world of rainbow unicorns. Cheats are avalaible on PC........AND consoles. Or you are just preventively looking for scapegoats and excuses for when a future player outsmarts and outfights you in the game.
BTW, stop using the word "MODS" in a cheats discussion, mods are not cheats, mods are positive por players and community, cheats aren't.

I can't think of any games especially FPS games online that haven't had problems with aim botters and map hackers but for some reason people think Sea of thieves is going to be the ONLY exception ever in the history of the internet to not have this problem.
If they don't employ something like Battleye to catch and ban these cheaters the games already dead in the water.

@slysyr that is very true.personally I think if you feel that you have to cheat in order to get anywhere in a game then you shouldn't be playing that game.

I'm with the OP and I too wonder this, it might make an appearance in the first major patch if not at launch, but I'm not getting my hopes up for now, but if this does become a problem at launch I imagine that it wouldn't be long after that an anti cheat program might be be employed. With that said, since nobody has a real advantage over people, and the gun hit registry is different than any other game I have played, coming up with ways to hack the code might be difficult to not be obvious, like flying or something.
a bit late, but yesterday I think I saw cheaters during two sessions.
1 hit kill and a lot of health (like, receiving 5 hit with sword, and some gun hits and not die.. without eating banannas)
Sloop receiving almost 20 hits wihout go underwater or Sloop not receiving attacks from NPC towers in a Skull cloud event...

One hopes that people at least will respect the code. One isnt sure it will happen though.
