steering wheel support

    I was thinking of creating a Helm for this game and modding a racing wheel with a sail ship helm wheel. This could improve the experience for those like myself who find joy in the sailing aspect of the game.

    that would be sweet. i recommend you also get a fan and put it on your desk to simulate the breeze. hang some fish in front of it so you get that nice ocean stench. 👍👍

    While you're at it, get yourself two kiddie pools. Fill one with sand and the other with salt water. Then buy a bandana and a plastic sword.

    That be the only way, to go full pirate for launch day!

    how would you go adjust the sails or move to drop anchor and all the other controls? i'd think it could make you limited on what you can do....just steer.

    It emulates a xbox controler and supports racing wheels. It might do the trick.
    Problem is, i don't know a single racing wheel that does 4 complete turns to the right and to the left (for the galeon), i'm not even sure it can make 2 complete turns (for the brig).

    I took a look around and can't seem to find a wheel that has 1440 degrees of rotation .... but that doesn't mean one can't be made.

    SOT the Americas Cup simulator seems like horizontal progression to me.
    Can't wait for the embargo to be lifted.

    Only joshing the forums seem to be getting far too serious!

    Why not a VR set of SoT which includes:

    • VR Goggles (SoT Captain's hat design) incl. headset
    • Utility belt with holsters for 2 controllers
    • Weapon controller / item controller
    • Utility controller (for bucket/compass and such)
    • Captain's wheel on a metal frame with adjustable height
